Talking about the term "piracy."
Ah misread it, just call it theft.

Quoting: LumumbaSo one could buy it on steam, claim it from gog and then refund it on steam?
As the steam account needs to be linked to GOG for the system to work I reckon a refund on Steam would show up on GOG & you'd lose the game on there as well, I'm guessing that's what would happen as I haven't tried it myself & I don't know of anyone who has either.

Quoting: LeopardNo , it saves.
You can't get elusive targets of course , they're one time run missions and they have a leaderboard like a competitive game around the globe.
It might be just me then. Seeing the new content coming soon I'll have to fire it up again for a quick play through.

Quoting: lucifertdarkI noticed over there you have a script for Oblivion, would it a lot of work to get it to recognise the original disc version?
My scripts unpack GOG's installer to get the game files, so it would require some modification to work with another release. There are also differences between the various different retail releases that would further complicate things, and a crack would likely be needed as well.
I worked out a way to get the script to set up the Wine part for me, then did the rest by hand, without your script I'd never have got it working. Thanks. :D

Quoting: LeopardYes , Hitman is the most recent example. It is drm free. It doesn't need any internet connection for playing game.

Ah , if you are one of the people who saying " When a game is on Steam , it is not drm free no matter what ; because Steam is drm and you need to use Steam for games " , then i must say also GOG is drm. Because you also need account for purchasing and downloading games from there , naturally.
You're wrong about Hitman, you need a constant connection to get everything in the game, without a connection only the main campaign is accessible. It doesn't even save your progress without a connection.

Quoting: adamhmIt's a shame about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I'm a huge fan of the Deus Ex series & really liked DXHR, but Square Enix have pulled too many dick moves for me to consider buying anything of theirs that isn't on GOG.

Anyway, in addition to the list in the article there are also a lot of great classic first person shooters (and RPGs with FPS mechanics) that run great in Wine... here are a few that I've made wrappers for:

Crysis & Crysis Warhead [External Link]
Deus Ex GOTY Edition [External Link]
Fallout 3 [External Link]
Fallout: New Vegas [External Link]
FEAR & FEAR 2 [External Link]
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, STALKER: Clear Sky, STALKER: Call of Pripyat [External Link]
SWAT 4 [External Link]

Quoting: lucifertdarkIf it wasn't for the fact it's a football game I'd be willing to buy it, but I just can't justify buying a game that I'm never going to play whatsoever. There's not enough money on the planet to convince me to own or play a football game, sorry developers.
Same.
Still kudos to the devs for supporting our platform.
Absolutely, I hope it sells really well for them.
