I don't even have the energy to care anymore.
Energy is in short supply and increasing in price as well.
AWS, Google and Microsoft, once there is no supply of CPUs, RAM, GPUs, and SSDs/HDDs for the rest, consumer or business, will increase the cost on their offerings too.

Steam Machine & Steam Frame FAQ - RAM and storage crisis to blame for no pricing or dates
8 Feb 2026 at 3:51 pm UTC

The Steam Machine will probably be the cheapest pc hardware you may find, no matter the price. I fear that the current crisis is going to leave the diy market with last gen tech and the high end gaming will become a cloud streaming exclusivity. Wishful thinking here. I'm affraid it might prove to be worst than that.

Something similar should be done to force streaming sites like Netflix into offering an option to "buy and download to keep" digital copies of their contents. Keep like in download on my personnal server legally and use on a Plex server (example). I'm tired of seing content that I like just disapear from these services.

The RAM price and availability situation is going to worsen as Micron pull their Crucial consumer business

I wanted to jump back in here to remind everyone to direct their anger at the Big Corporations & AI Companies for doing this to gamers & consumers.
I'd add the current american administration to that list, exactly for the reason you mentionned : "if you listen to what they say" on the matter. This and the old addage: "Follow the money". They poured billions of tax payers money in Micron. It usually comes with conditions, yet here we are... I don't believe in coincidence.

They even tried to pass laws to block states from hindering this AI scam.

Knowing that memory is nearly everywhere, I'm worried about inflation if this AI scam doesn't settle quickly. Think about TVs, cars, even the production chains of the bread we eat... Who will be able to pay for this AI stuff? The ultra-rich?

A world built we the tax payer's money where he/she is not invited.

OMV had a huge overhaul with version 7. Much better than V5. This said, I'm not saying you should drop Proxmox. Can't go wrong with that.
