It's a road you can't get back. Hordelikes are addictive as hell.
I'm now playing Soul Survivors, which was already shown here on GOL and while it is still on early access it has the nice concept of classes with specific powers(like Halls of Torment) in which make the gameplay really fun and also a retro styled pixelart aesthetic.
While you have some specifics on statistics and starting powers on Vampire Survivors, at the end of the day all weapons are available to anyone, and in Soul Survivors they are really class bound and you will not see for example an Archer power available to Necromancer.

The open-nvidia-gpu is still a mess and some basic blocks like NVENC are missing for RTX30xx series so, while I would love to believe they are collaborating more with the community, I think they are just doing things in a reactive way.

Quoting: DDawdlerI don't want to read too much into this, but I really hope that this is the beginning of a better collaboration between the linux community and NVIDIA.I wish I could have that feeling as well but dealing with NVIDIA back from the 440 MX Geforece2 series and 9600GT, NVIDIA is always playing at the lowest stake possible.

Funny enough the name "Karai" means "d--c" in pt_BR, in an exclamatory way...
When you are impressed or surprised by something, "Karai," is the word to use.
heheheheh

DevilutionX is great for those who wants to revisit old stuff but also want some modern goodies on Diablo Gameplay.
Playing with a SN30 Pro(8BitDo) is also awesome when I'm tired and don't feel like playing on mouse+keyboard.
Having an unofficial CHEST also gets you free from the burden of having to create network games and pass stuff around between two characters, which is the common practice since this resource is missing on Diablo 1 vanilla.
These are some of the goodies I like most while playing using this opensource engine.
There are lots of other good options to tinker here(disable crippling shrines, enable auto pickup for other stuff, force not randomic quests, force some of the quests on...).
Devs are also pretty accessible and fixed one of the issues I've had and it was reported by others(right clicking on Golem scroll made the scroll to went missing, while putting it on the stash or quick spell slot works).
I was also considering enabling "Aria Refills Mana", but that would be too much of a benefit... heh

Guess the only route here is to use the driver Nvidia elects as "LTS" when the time comes and GTX 1080 will have to stick with a specific driver version.

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderThanks very much for your help guys :smile:Nops. The recently "opened" driver Nvidia is maintaining on Github.
Quoting: nwildnerLuckly GTX 1080 is one of the GPUs that is part of the open-nvidia driversIs that the Nouveau driver???

Quoting: mr-victoryAfaik 16xx and newer is supported by open kernel modules. You're completely right. 1080 is out of the support matrix for that GPU as well.

People using the GTX7xx series are bound to the 470 driver version and ancient gpus use the 390 series.
So, it's pretty safe to ASSUME that when the time has come, let say for example that nvidia 630 will be the last version that will support your GTX1080, that driver will have it's own package maintainers on most distros.
Edit: GTX 1080 is not part of the open-nvidia-drivers [External Link]

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderI have a real dumb question about Nvidia drivers and EndeavourOS......As said above on the other 2 comments, they will likely FORK the driver and keep this as last driver available for that series while still providing some minor fixes.
Ive got a Nvidia GTX 1080...... And im assuming my card is coming to end of driver support sometime in the not to distant future....... So my question is..... What happens when that does indeed happen???...... Will the EndeavourOS updater know the driver no longer supports my card and stop downloading and installing the unsupported driver on my pc????..... Or will I have to remove the current driver and install a legacy driver or what????....... It is something that has crossed my mind a few times over the past few months as my card gets older and older........
I know I should probably ask over on the EndeavourOS forums but I dont want to create an account just to ask this 1 dumb question....... So here I am....
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.....

Cartridges game launcher adds support for Legendary for Epic Games and Flatpaks

Cartridges is a nice visual-looking frontend for those who want a UI that is similar with what you have on Gnome if you are user of that DE, but it is missing some features that other frontends like EmulationStation and Pegasus-FE already have like:
- Game navigation using Controller(there is a github issue opened on that)
- There is no indication if Cartridges has some sort of universal controller config where you configure in one place and the configuration is inherited by the backend(Steam, retroarch, lutris, etc).
While it seems to be a cool project, it's barebones compared with other frontends avaialble to manage retrogames and Steam, Lutris, and Heroic game collections.

Multiplayer voxel RPG 'Veloren' v0.15 is out adding the first world boss

Veloren is a nice piece of Opensource voxel game.
I'm doing the pt_BR translation, and I can see the passion that the devs have to make it not just a "Cube World clone" but also a decent and fun game.
Two-handed Swords were the first to receive a better tech tree lately, and there is more to come.
