Developer Infamous Quests Has Announced Two New Point-And-Click Adventures To Be Released This Year
30 Mar 2015 at 5:34 pm UTC

reminds me so much of the old Quest for Glory (Hero's Quest) and King's Quest sort of games. The Book of Unwritten Tales is a very similar game as well, was very fun to play. The Quest for Glory series is by far my all time favorite. Quest for Infamy will be one to grab for sure :)

StarCrawlers, An Early Mix Of RPG & Dungeon Crawling Released For Linux, Thoughts Thrown In

that's really cool, I love indie games that do things like this, because I loved the older Phantasy Star games. even though this may be a niche game, I think people might be surprised if the overall graphics and story are fun and interesting. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one. old school rpg combat with updated cool, fun and stylized graphics... nothing wrong with that at all.

Larian Studios Detail Why The Linux Port Of Divinity Is Taking So Damn Long

I know I bought this way to early when they promised this on Kickstarter for Linux. I knew in the back of my mind that it would be treated like a bastard child. I hope this "cool" feature is worth the wait, because this has taken so long that I've gotten a bit chafed from company promises. At least there are certain companies I feel confident about now when it comes to Linux releases. but never again with these add-hock Kickstarter projects. I just think Vulkan can't get here quick enough... lol :)

President Of Blizzard Responds To The Linux Petition, Petition Owner Creates Childish Response

Quoting: tobiushirogeriSo now i've got to find a way to use my nVidia card and driver under a Virtual machine (virtual box) to play Diablo III
One thing I love about playonlinux is you are able to setup mulitple wine environments easily, the one setup that was automatically created by playonlinux for Hearthstone has worked really well for Diablo 3 as well. The one change i've made is that I removed the dpghelp override.

President Of Blizzard Responds To The Linux Petition, Petition Owner Creates Childish Response

Blizzard, like many other corporations out there are just simply greedy. this is why we don't see any ports of EA or any other major game company. Not that EA really matters that much, but they do have some games that are hugely popular. I'm sure this is all about money in the end. The one aspect of Blizzard that I do appreciate is that they do make it a point to try and make their games playable in wine.
It's one of those situations where IF Valve where to start to gain some major traction with SteamOS/Linux with Steam, like above 20% of the market within a year then we might start to see newer games from these companies ported over. Until then, I'm under the assumption those of us that are 100% Linux users are just SOL. and have to deal with using wine. As it stands Blizzard is the only company with games that I like to play that are not ported, so for me it's not a major deal.

Cities: Skylines City Builder Releases Today, Some Thoughts After Playing It

So far I've really enjoyed this game, I steered clear of SimCity 4 after all the problems it had plus it was only available through Origin, which I've never cared for. Plus since I've been a full time Linux user for for awhile now I had high hopes for this game and so far it has lived up to those hopes and then some. Definitely the best city builder game I've ever played and it has been running great on Manjaro with my i5-3570k @ 3.4GHz, Geforce GTX 660, 16GB ram, latest 3.18 kernel and Nvidia 346.xx drivers.

I'm sure this has more to with WebGL, OpenGL ES and Vulkan integration than anything else.

Tell Blizzard You Want Linux Support In Their Games
8 Mar 2015 at 9:03 pm UTC

I've always wondered why it's so hard for Blizzard to make Linux ports when they openly support Linux but then the company side of things decides it's not worth it. even when their COO said we would see a native Linux version of an "up coming game" back in April of last year but yet I've still not seen it. which I had assumed it was Hearthstone. But yet nothing is even hinted about. I've played WoW for about the first 4 years it came out but then got bored and moved on. I do own Diablo and it's expansion which I played when i used to dual boot windows. But only play Hearthstone because I'm able to run it well enough in wine. Honestly hearthstone will be all i play of Blizzard games until they decide to make native ports. because as it stands everything else I like to play is available on Linux now, and more and more are being ported to Linux every week. Why Blizzard "the company" has to come across as a greedy piece of dung is beyond me. Maybe it has something to do with Activision? who knows...
