this is awesome, would love an updated version of this. I'm going to grab the digital deluxe for sure. I still have my original with all expansions tarballed. I played it back on ubuntu 12.04 & 14.04 after steam came to Linux, so i had that plus Civ 4 to play while i waited on other things to come out. had to do a little work around for the sound to work, but it ran great.

but not to many companies are willing to take radical leaps anymore. to much pressure from MS to keep things in their court. although if no one else does, then Google will simply run away with it all eventually.

Quoting: slaapliedjethis is true, but it never hurts to have fresh ideas and development going on within Linux as far as DE/UX goes. they could design their own tablet and/or console system and push their own interface that could work for steam and other types of gaming like using a translation layer for android for linux (much like anbox but that idea can be refined a lot still), overall it could help GNU/Linux as a whole, if it were ever made open source. pave their own way so to speak, by making a true user friendly Linux system for home users.Quoting: neowiz73it's interesting to see Stardock warm up to linux. I hope this continues, even in other areas aside from games. their UX designs are nice and I've always thought they would be better suited for Linux than on Windows.Yeah, some of their software seems to actually add thing s to Windows that Linux Desktop Environments have had for years.

looking forward to the November 23rd update, i've enjoyed checking this game out the last couple of weeks. the one downside to me is the lack of variety when it comes to creatures. it would be nice to have some more formidable "boss" like creatures as well. hopefully this is in a future update. I hope the physics get an update/fix, i've died more from strange things like my entire house catapulting a few hundred meters into the air than from the creatures.
overall I really enjoy sandbox games, the graphics in this game are really nice. I just don't see it being a 100+ hour game unless there is a lot of added content. I hope the monuments live up to the hype.

great stuff :), thanks Ikey and all those who have worked on this. the ARK fixes are probably one of the biggest aspects of it. i'm not sure if the shader issues for nvidia were part of the fix or not. I don't have it installed anymore to test. but I most likely will in the near future.

out of many new games that came out in 2015, Hands of Fate stood out quite well. I really like the unique system it uses with cards, story dynamics and the scaled difficulty as you play further into the game. This seems like they have improved much of what made the first one great. I really like the art style as well, which seems much improved over the first. looking forward to playing this soon :)
Linux marketshare on Steam dropped again in October, as China takes a massive chunk of the market

that jump in windows 7 numbers and the decline of windows 10 made me chuckle, i guess windows 10 isn't quite as pirated as much as windows 7 in china these days :P
According to netmarketshare Linux hit 6.91% market share last month, higher than Mac

china has been wanting to get rid of Microsoft for a number of years now, but of course their are pirated copies of windows going around everywhere there. but now with ChromeOS, Android and various distributions of Linux like Kylin and Deepin (and the untold variations within China, that we don't see open sourced). it's no surprise to see something start to happen with the marketshare.
But it's always good to see things in a positive direction. :)

The hack and slash RPG 'Vikings - Wolves of Midgard' is now available on Linux

the K&M works fantastic in this game, there's even some tweaks they did with having a larger attack radius around the mouse cursor, compared to every other hack'n slash in the past. you can literally click and hold your left mouse button throughout the entire map and whatever comes close to your cursor your character will attack. right click is to roll/dodge or spacebar.

overall it's a decent story, but it is a bit of a grind for crafting gear at the parts where you need to upgrade your buildings to continue on. just don't grind to much, because when you hit new game+ all of your materials reset. which I feel was totally unnecessary, and a bit of a kick in the balls so to speak. maybe they will tweak this in a later patch (hopefully).
for a single run threw it is a really fun game and worth it while it's on sale, if you really get into the grind of hack 'n slash games like Diablo for the late game, then this will be a good investment, because it seems the devs are still working to improve this game.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTThere is a sale right now! Is the game worth it? The reviews are mixed: Good and bad ones are almost even. Usually this is a bad sign.if you like playing just single player portion of hack 'n slash action RPGs then this game is fun. there is some performance issues. but on my system, it was minimal. it looks great and works really well. they have recently fixed many small bugs that were in the game. on Linux it works really well. it's a unique twist on Viking mythology. it is loosely based, but well enough as you can tell they must have really enjoyed watching Vikings the tv series, because there are some tidbits of influence there.
