at least they seem to be adamant about working out the issues and we will most likely see support soon enough. that's good to see. more nvidia driver fixes will be nice to see. I really like the concept of this game. looking forward to the Linux release.

I'm glad I waited until this gets ported before I bought it. i've been wanting to play Shogun 2 for quite awhile now. this is going to be an instant buy for me.
I tried Wurm Unlimited and it was a painful experience

I tried this awhile back as well, the whole idea of it seemed fun. the graphics are a bit old, somewhere around the 2001 to 2004 era graphics style. that didn't really bother me though. I liked it for the nostalgia of an older mmo.
but it is very clunky to figure out how to get things to work. a lot of left and right clicking things. It requires an incredible amount of patience to figure out. for anyone that doesn't have a load of time on their hands to simply set around and figure out all the things it can be very annoying.
although I was nicely surprised how most everything ran and It didn't crash at all. I didn't try the multiplayer though.
not a bad game, but not that great either.

when they release this for purchase on steam I'll most likely grab it. I'm stupidly addicted to the open world-sandbox-survival games. it reminds of the addiction i had with MMOs, when they were just becoming a thing, when Ultima online, EQ and Asheron's Call were the major MMOs of the time.
All we need now is Blizzard to make a similar game and it to become the greatest thing since sliced bread and everyone claim it was the first one ever made and we'd be set.
Then every other company could just make similar "clones" and I would be totally happy :)

Quoting: m0nt3so far twitchlive_panel, caffeine and openweather. but overall the openssl was what really killed it for me.Quoting: neowiz73looks like there's a bit more broken than just openssl, the update for GNOME to 3.24 dropped as well which apparently there are a number of extensions are broken beyond just updating the metadata.json.That not what I want to hear. I just switched to gnome from KDE. Do you know what extensions are broken? I have held off updating my arch. I don't really want to roll a new distro, but I don't want to hvae to deal with these issues either.
Downgrading will break pacman and other parts that depend on the newer version. symlinking is about the only temp fix. but I don't like doing that and it's typically a bad idea.
Looks like I'll be distro hopping for a bit until this is sorted out.

Quoting: LinuxwarperIs it me or is launching of apps in Unity much better than Gnome 3? I installed Gnome 3, to try it out, and it's app launching methods is lacking. Unity: Superkey+n (n= 0-9), Gnome: Super +Hover to app/Type and navigate with arrow key+Click/Execute key. Am I only one who have noticed this?use the Dash to Dock extension on GNOME, not only can it give you a unity like launcher but it has the same functionality with superkey+n. it is highly configurable. you can even scroll the mouse wheel on the launcher to switch virtual desktops.

It's sad to see people lose jobs, but the Unity 8 desktop will continue in development. Michał Sawicz has mentioned this. it's open source :) this is why open source can be the greatest thing, because even when a corporation or company sees no merit, the developers get to decide that ultimately if a piece of software goes into the graveyard of code.
In one way I like this, because we may see fresh Unity 8 builds pop up in the AUR in the near future :)
But besides that, I'm glad Canonical are back using and working with GNOME. hopefully we get to see some special Ubuntu flair on GNOME now. I wouldn't mind seeing a full global menu in GNOME. Not sure if that'll happen but it could as an optional feature on Ubuntu or an Ubuntu patched build of GNOME shell.
But nevertheless, I hope everyone that lost jobs will be able to find new employment quickly.
