Has there ever been a NFT/blockchain game thats gameplay first?
Epic Games store is full of this web3 asset flip trash or very bad clones of actual good games.

Don't really understand the benefits of NFT either if you can just use microtransactions (not that i like microtransactions either, but for free games its fine i guess) that are way easier for end user to use, rather than creating random wallets and going through multiple conversion things to get something etc.

This looks like its gonna fail big.
Many won't understand NFTs until Steam removes trading cards (their ToS allows them to do it). People need to lose something before they start looking for alternative solutions. I am sometimes surprised how slow this process is, even when free-to-play online servers get closed left and right and people losing everything they spent on micro-transactions.

Fun fact, Valve's flop Artifact still has trading cards, but none of them load because the images are only on Steam servers. Images of properly done NFTs are stored on IPFS (torrent like filesystem accessible via web gateways).
Just like the countless NFTs that had their image links have long expired... Lmfao.

Literally all NFTs are doing is to store a link to an image on somewhere... that may not keep working forever.

I love it when cryptobros shill their so called "improvement" when it actually doesn't solve anything *at best*.

Yuzu agrees to pay Nintendo $2.4 million and will entirely shut down (Citra for 3DS too)

As much as I hate Nintendon't, the Yuzu/Citra team weren't the cleanest bunch around either. And I'm not just talking about the TOTK/piracy stuff.

Here is an excellent writeup that I've stumbled upon. [External Link] I find it hard to symphatise with them after reading this. Basically they have not only literally invited Nintendo in with bright signs to the front door, but also made other emulators' lifes a bit more miserable due to their "armchair lawyering".

Surreal Engine is an open source reimplementation of Unreal Engine for classic games

Quoting: Talon1024Ooooh, interesting!

Good thing I still have Unreal Gold, Unreal 2, and Unreal Tournament on my GOG.com account. Seeing this makes me wonder if it will ever be possible to play Rune [External Link] on this engine.

And speaking of Rune, the developers announced a new game in the series [External Link] years ago, but it seems like nothing has come of it.
(I'm not the main dev/repo owner, but a contributor to the project)

I got a PR open for detecting Rune Classic [External Link], but currently the engine just crashes lol.

Also, Unreal Gold support had some improvements very recently: formerly only the castle flyby would work, now it is possible to load and play deathmatch maps too! The same limitations with UT apply though, and single player maps crash atm.

I understand exactly what you mean, but your not really supporting them, rather just taking advantage of them. If they want to give away free shit, just take it and play it. The second they expect some compensation, just turn around. I don't like Epic too, but am happy to have played lots of good games they gave me for free via Heroic and I really don't see how that supports them in any way as I haven't given them a cent...that's my 2 cents :)
Well you still provide them the user numbers they're so unashamed to shill about this way, so...

What happened to the "if a product is free YOU are the product" mentality? :V

It is also funny to me that Linux users of all people being attracted to Epic. You know, the ones that are behind EAC and multiplayer games being difficult to work under Linux. The same guys that took Rocket League away from you and destroyed its Linux support. The same guys who work under a charlatan who claims he is saving the PC gaming when it is actually the complete opposite with its exclusives and such; and likens you using Linux to moving to Canada.

Even GOG is better than these guys, and all they practically do is more or less nothing. :V
