Hmm, maybe I was wrongly confusing that with the statement about future games using Unity ...
If I'll find it, I'll post it here.
Otherwise, I stand corrected. :)
I remember a tweet by them as a reaction to a question concerning the engine swap for a
new Machinarium build and if this work couldn't be leveraged for other older titles.

I guess that'll happen. :/

Let's be honest - for the last years there is absolutely no valid reason anymore to blame AMD for bad driver support. Please don't come up with anecdotal evidence that only refer to very special case - that are actually present for *all* manufacturers.

Quoting: GuestSorry, but that sounds like it was written in the 200Xies.Quoting: subSorry, but if we have any self respect, a game that only works on GPUs by one company should be boycotted these days. (In this case after years!)Nobody? 75% of the steam userbase use nvidia [External Link] - and you might know that there are a lot of people in the windows and console communities who like to brag about exclusive content.
On Windows nobody would give the developer a pass on that, right?
Alien: Isolation, Dying Light, ARK and many others didn't work with mesa+amd for years because the amd support was relatively new and devs didn't bother because of the small marketshare. This is just a small RTS and I think the same thing happened with it.

If this isn't pressure, I don't know.

Quoting: ShmerlThis might not be enough to force Nvidia to upstream their driver, but it will for sure decrease the usage of their blob even further. There are rumours that Nvidia had no chance getting a platform win with Google Stadia as they have no competitive open-source driver with NVidia being the stakeholder.
That's a good thing for Linux ecosystem and progress of Wayland.
If this isn't pressure, I don't know.

Also doesn't work for me on another system with recent ArchLinux.
On which Linux distribution is this running at all?
Ubuntu/SteamOS?
And no reply so far on the support request.
That's annoying, really.
Playing now using Windows.
I'm getting more and more pragmatic. :)

Moreover, those are typically the same devs that are very thin-skinned when it comes to criticism.
Waiting for this dev to call "us" ungrateful. That's usually the final step in the escalation. :)

Quoting: ChronariusReading lots of feedback and opinions by devs you'll see many being very closed-minded and prejudiced against the Linux ecosystem. Still. After all the years with great dev tools and environments they're still supporting each others opinion that Linux is a hell to support and not worth it (market share).Quoting: KlaasI think it's really insulting that the developer dragged Linux into the “Apple hates developers and end users” mess deliberately giving a wrong impression.Yeah, and calls others "disrespectful" for telling him "Welcome on the ignore list!"
BTW: What has the publisher also known as Humble Bundle to say to this?

Icculus seems to work quick!Quoting: subOh Ryan ... I only get a black screen on launch. :DApparently that's not the only bug. Me and a friend ran into a script error a few screens into the game that seems pretty much game-breaking.
I'm sure he'll fix this.

So, it would seem this needs a patch before it gets going.
He sure was (is) a very important person for Linux gaming.
Let's see how long it'll take him to fix the black screen ... :D
