This happen to me also when I had a AMD 5850;
from the developer;
"switching drivers around kinda broke my setup though so I installed Debian 8 "
He was switching from open source to close source drivers. I dont want to remember how much time I took troubleshooting and switching between drivers when I used AMD. I understand the support for open source but whats the point of supporting if it cant provide a usable gaming computer. I dont want to spend $500.00 dollars on a video card for mediocre performance. I am a gamer at heart that has been windows free for over a year now. I have made the switch full time now and I do miss some games but I know have plenty of other games to play.
Plus I think AMD slap all the open source fanatics with Vulkan development. You will need to use their proprietary drivers if you will want to use Vulkan. My 2 points.

I saw this game but it did not interest me. Actually I have not bought ANY of the retro games. If I want to play retro games I would have bought an AMD video card (Its a joke guys to make you laugh). In a honesty these games are not my cup of tea. If they made a graphics intensive game I would have bought it in a heart beat.

I bought it and I am really enjoying it. It'a a much more polish game over War for the Overlord. I stopped playing WftO to let it cook some more in the oven. Game play is nice but get ready to manage as you have to be after your guys all the time. Keeps you always in the game. There is no auto pilot. Fps inside the dungeon I get over 100 fps on a 780 GHZ at 1440P. Outdoors it will drop to about 45 fps at times. That's with every option turn to the max. Overall well worth the $40 I spent on it.

I see random crashes to desktop. Sometimes I see it 5 minutes into a game and sometimes I see them 30 minutes into a game. The other annoying thing is the game still cant run on a XFS partition.

I am so sad. Was ready to jump on today and play it! Unfortunately there is a bug if your running the game on a XFS partition. I tried to copy the game to a ext4 partition and making a symbolic link but that didn't work. VP posted on the Steam forums that they are aware of the issue and going to issue a patch for it. :( Now need to wait.
