I wish it was actually called the 'gabecube' lol, gamecube was the first thing I thought of when I saw the reveal
Edit: I use the "target acquired" portal 2 gun turrent movie intro for few years now, for when I'm on big picture mode :)

1080p can still look OK on a 4k display imo, the price is going to be the important part here but their claim it's a 4k 60fps machine is abit dubious
Only question I'm asking myself is whether to get an oled steam deck now, or wait.. worried ill buy one now and it will be discounted next year or something, but with their focus on steam machine 2.0 at least I don't have to worry about a steam deck 2 round the corner as its probably a long way off atm

Imo we don't really need a galaxy client, I use it on windows 11 and it's just not that great
I'd love to see them support linux ports more, it sucks how some games have native linux on steam but not gog
I'd also love to see them just fix up their current games that support linux. Hotline Miami 1 and 2 on gog require hunting down old 32bit libs to get them to even run!
Steam? Install game, play game. Why? The steam runtime includes alot of common libs.
Sure, I imagine some old linux ports on steam still might require manually grabbing the required libs, as is the nature with linux distros evolving. Still be nice if GOG could try and include some of these required libraries.

@such
Agree, it's "preservation" in the sense that we can back up our offline installers
But true preservation means everyone being able to access the content, now and in the future
But GOG gets games pulled from sale just as much as any other storefront, not much they can do about that however.
I love the drm-free offline installers but they're a business and it doesn't seem right asking for donations

I'm skeptical, in my opinion 343 have never really done a good Halo game, they came close with infinite but had too much missing and too many issues
Splitscreen is going to be console-only.. again.
Also I don't think there's been mention of the iconic multiplayer? I don't want to sound so negative, just really love Halo and always get disappointed by 343

I do still plan on getting a steam deck, I mostly play indie or older titles so I know it'll run most of what I want
Love how much developers seem to be embracing the deck eco-system

This comes at a time when I'm thinking about going back to using steam as my main store, been mainly using gog past couple years
Same time Croc is the sort of game I'd want to have an offline installe, alot of fond childhood memories with this one!
