Heroic Games Launcher v2.19 released adding ZOOM Platform, AppImage updates and more

Quoting: MinoscerebI like the look of Heroic, it's a lot better designed visually than Lutris and feels more user friendly, but since Lutris can run all the stores Heroic can, and at least for GoG has access to lots of useful scripts for things like mods or just actual playability, I don't see a use case for Heroic for myself. I'm curious where other people fall on this though. Have I missed something about Heroic?
Heroic has experimental cloud save support for gog games which is my main reason to use it

I like lutris for the setup scripts for old gamss

Banjo-Kazooie gets a native PC port with Linux / Steam Deck support

It's amazing how fast these guys are getting these recomps out

What I particularly like is how they let the user upscale but then downsample back to native res. Far better then just bumping up the internal res!

I picked up the LCD model over Christmas and been struggling to put it down, definitely want to get an oled model in the future

I am concerned the steam machine won't be as successful

It's going to be tough on valve releasing new hardware with the current climate, but I hope both the MACHINE and the frame will bring them good fortune because they both look cool

I will be getting one of those new steam controllers though, least I can afford that lol

Looking at that 'Odyssey Mario's Moveset' it does seem to require manual building for native linux, the precompiled version is windows/wine only

SteamOS 3.7.19 arrives with a bunch of essential bug fixes

Is anyone else having issues with source engine games on steam deck lcd?

Unless with HL2 I have shader detail set to 'low' it will just crash

L4D2 crashes if effects aren't set to 'low'

And Portal crashes if shadow detail isn't set to 'low'

Anything higher then low on these specific settings seems to make them crash, also l4d2 still crashed when set to proton (tried various versions)

Split-Fiction for me I think

It really reminds me of what gaming use to be, before live service "forever" games kicked in, and I was expecting it to be a stutter fest but they really know how to make the most out of UE5

Really hope Hazelight Studios get to continue making these sort of games, hopefully EA doesn't get rid of this team of talented developers but who knows these days lol

Valve discontinuing the last Steam Deck LCD model

Quoting: shadow1w2I'd be down for a Deck Lite or Deck Pocket if they need to fill the entry level gap.
Guess theres still any pc fpr entry level and who knows if third parties will try a cheaper mini steam os device eventually.
This is something that would be really neat to see

With them now working on arm for the steam frame, perhaps they could take what they learn from that and apply it to a steam "pocket" or deck lite

Glad I picked it up at 20% off, at £350 it's abit of a harder sell when the oled model is available for an extra £120
