FSR2 injection with external tools
The problem is you dont want to just upscale. My monitor can do this. You want to use a good supersampling algorithm for upscaling and anti-aliasing the picture in motion without artifacts or ghosting.
Both DLSS and FSR are really just usable since their 3er versions.
FSR2 is useless, the resulting picture is crap if you not upscale to resolutions above 4k.

FSR4, usable with the new RDNA4 Radeons, is a really great piece of software but needs to be implemented by developers. But reports indicate it is even usable by swapping dll files if the 3er Version is in the game.

So, AMD didn't pay enough to get their open source solution implemented instead of proprietary Nvidia shit?

Dear Remedy, sincerly hope you're the next devolper getting pulverized by capitalism. You earned it!

SteamOS-like Bazzite Linux has some nice growth thanks to great handheld PC support

If you think/hope that just a recent kernel/driver will make a significant improvement in performance
No, actually it's the desktop. Last summer my Deck replaced my living room media and TV PC, where I frequently use desktop mode. Plasma 5 is awful for that, because of scaling issues and problems when using it on the fly docked/handheld. Plasma 6 or Gnome would be a way better experience.
But it would not be worth it if i have to give up the just-works-game-console-UX of SteamOS.

Perhaps a silly question but could Bazzite be a good replacement for SteamOS on a Steam Deck?
Does it do anything better?

Wayland Colour Management and HDR Protocol finally merged

Can anyone help me, I'm a bit lost:
On my EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma Wayland there is neither wayland-protocols nor plasma-wayland-protocols installed.
These protocols are optional? For what? How are they used? On Arch Wiki I have found nothing on this topic.

Monster Hunter Wilds looks unplayable on Steam Deck but good on Desktop Linux

Splatter is a great game.
Top down twin stick shooter with gorgous atmosphere and this tactical flares feature. Also some kind of MaxPayne'ish vibe.

Aww, I really would like to see more good games like these, M&M4/5, M&M6-8 or Wizardry 6-8...
But, sorry, these placeholder graphics are absolutely awful, its not even some kind of artistic direction or a question of style. These are just awful placeholder graphics, imho.

Sorry, devs, please hire a skilled artist.

Slavic fantasy story-driven mystery adventure The End of the Sun releases January 29

historically accurate
forgotten traditions, uncover ancient rituals, and encounter mythical creatures rooted in Slavic folklore.
Hmm, where to begin... ok... this is bullshit.
The depicted traditions, dresses and symbols belong Rodovari, a Russian and Eastern European neopaganistic movement, in some countrys even a accepted relgion. It dates back to only beginning of the early 20th century, perhaps 19th century, like all the other neopagan movements, which became a bit of a trend everywhere in Europe at that time.
Although these movements sometimes have a bit of flavour of nationalism and racism i'm very much interested in this, because I really like the aesthetics of slavic paganism. Hope the devolopers drop the historical and traditions rubbish and do a proper adventure game.
