This is somewhat bull-poo answer - if they don't operate the server then it's not them being responsive for what happens at self hosted server.

Is somewhat of a hipocresía that they suddenly care about players... but not enough Ti let them play xD

> Ugh. Telemetry driven development is the bane of my computing life. It insidiously causes some devs to use it as a substitute for actual thinking instead of as a support.

do you have any dev experience?

telemetry IA super useful, especially on case of limited resources...

Proton Experimental update enables gamepad input for all game launchers on Linux, SteamOS / Steam Deck

Flávio from Heroic here. Yeah, this is something we know it's happening although none of our team could reproduce it. Let's hope it fixes it, but it seems something ont the SteamOS side. Also might be a case when using wine or old proton version. Proton 10 should work fine.
Oh hai! :D

I thought that maybe I'll try Proton10 but then Heroic didn't even start (and I was kinda short on time to investigate further).

I went on a bit of searching and found:
* "[SteamDeck] Gamepad navigation not working." (https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/issues/1400) which was closed pointing to second one:
* "Steam Deck Controllers Work In Standalone AppImage But Not Flatpak" (https://github.com/bitfighter/bitfighter/issues/674)

And indeed I'm using Flatpack. But! It states "closed" yet the navigation is wonky. Does it mean that "it wasn't working at all" and the "wonky" is kinda known problem? Is there any isssue on github that tracks it?

Oh, does that mean it will make using Heroic launcher less painful when started from steam on the Deck? neat! (I installed it yesterday and it was kinda annoying to use...)

KDE Plasma drops LTS releases but will do extra bug fix releases, along with a new Steam-like hardware survey

Survey sounds nice though I don't mind having (anonymized) telemetry ON by default (in full)… It really helps developing software if one knows the usage…

Epic reduce their cut to 0% for the first $1 million in revenue for devs on the Epic Games Store

uhm... I couldn't care less about Epic save for the freebies... which I can't even run in a sane manner because they don't care about linux, so there's that.

Besides, their "shop experience" is beyond awful. One of the reasons I'm willing to get games on Steam (instead of GOG) is that I see Valve is doing a lot of (subjectively) good things like improving linux support...

Valve continues preparing the Steam Deck OS to release for more devices with SteamOS 3.7.4 Preview

What frustrates me a bit is the frequency I encounter YouTubers that are super excited for this so they can replace Windows with SteamOS on their desktop PCs. I suspect they will end up just being very disappointed since that is not what this is for.
Is it? While it's focused on handhelds IMHO it could be nicely usable on regular desktops -- I'm planning on getting a regular PC and converting it into "livingroom console" with basically steam popping up just like on steamdeck (I know there are other distros that try to do just that…)

A public alpha of the 'semi-immutable' Manjaro Summit Linux is now available

recently I've been pondering migrating mi father's machine to Linux and having something immutable that could rollback to previous version on failed update seems like a godsend!
