CRYENGINE 3.8.1 Adds Official OpenGL & Linux Support
20 Jun 2015 at 1:08 pm UTC

To have official support doesnt mean games will use it. But I hope games will use it.

Said this, Lichdom: Battlemage's devs stated that the game didnt come to Linux for the lack of support of this engine. Come to the forums and help add some more pressure on the developer now that it has. ;)

You could use the forum post by Liam :D , who I've just pasted the link of this new to.

Quoting: tony1abFolks. How is the performance of the first game for you?
amd r9 260x. core i7 2990. 16 gig ram.
Between 70 and 110 FPS (in the town with no enemies) on "ultra" with fxaa in 1920×1200. Core i5 4690K, GTX 660, nvidia 349.16, Xfce.

Perhaps it’s slow for you because your CPU does not exist ;-).

Edit: have you tried the latest Catalyst 15.5? It is said to improve some games significantly.
Fixed. Its a corei7 2600.
Yes. I'm with latest drivers.

Folks. How is the performance of the first game for you?
I have same pc with 2 partitions.
amd r9 260x. core i7 2600. 16 gig ram.

With my win 7 partition I have 57fps. Everything in ultra settings. Latest amd drivers.
With my ubuntu partition I have 23 (unplayable). Latest amd drivers. (and tested on ubuntu 14.04, and upgraded to 15.04 to see if that was the reason...no luck)

Funny thing is, If i swicht settings to high I have 23 fps. If I switch to medium, i have 23 fps. And if I switch to low, I have 23 fps...
Yes, no matter who settings I choose. Always 23.

Other games in Ubuntu performs ok. I think this company leave linux market as a secondary thing, and doesnt bother our performance. If they do that to us, I think is not right to support them.

2 billions of funds and they give those excuses...

Anyways, Valve VR system is better, and also multiplatform, so the linux and mac customers they have lost, have been lost forever. Helping your rivals is always a great way to do bussiness.

Steam Officially Starts Allowing Paid Mods In The Workshop, People Are Upset

The other day you talked about fistfull of frags.
I had curiosity and entered his steam page. I hit the hub community site, and I found a message by the developer complaining that the future of the mod was uncertain due the fact he wasnt finding people who could work for free.
(here is http://steamcommunity.com/games/fof/announcements/detail/190613441175294143 [External Link] )

That was a very upset message saying that the mod wasnt going to receive as many upgrades as it deserves, and that the ones who were going to be done, were going to be insufficient. He was saying things like: The mod could have a ton of content, but it is impossible to do being free. And admiting that it was going to remain free, but this would make the game to stay very very limited.

Guess what? The first 4 replies were people saying: Add more weapons...add exploding arrows....

We live in a world where you make a lot of work, you give something for free, you complain about the impossibilities of making a work whithout being paid, and the only reply you have is "gimme more".

Everyone wants the goods. No one wants to pay the bill.

I really hope that mod authors find a way to make some money, and can live with the developing of games.

For the ones who wants free mods I have a suggecstion: Learn to make a game, do it yourselves, and then release it free. Then we speak.

Lets try to be honests. In South Corea starcraft is a national sport. And WOW has had 10 millions of active accounts. The insane amounts of money they surely have would have given them more than enough money to contract a third party, who could make easily the port, as many other companies with less money than them are doing.

And, from 2% percent, as you say when we read some Steam survey results, that would become more of 1 million of more sales.

So from those 2 facts, my conclusions are
-They have more than enough money to do it.
-They would win money with the operation.

So:
-They dont do it because they dont want to.

No, I dont respect Blizzards decision.

But put that simple. If they dont release games for my OS, then I wont play their games.

Tell Blizzard You Want Linux Support In Their Games
8 Mar 2015 at 11:42 am UTC Likes: 2

Its not the same to say them: "Please, do a linux port" than, "I'm currently playing on linux many, many, many other games...if you dont put your games in linux, I will simply play others".

Im begining to love these times. A monopoly is being destroyed.
