No More Probes, A Really Stylish Survival RTS Coming To Linux
23 Mar 2015 at 2:10 pm UTC

Quoting: liamdaweI don't really agree with Wikipedia on this one I'm afraid.
That's fine but I think that is what most people think of when they see those three letters.

Quoting: liamdaweI see an RTS as any strategy game that you control at least one unit that builds things and isn't turn-based
Good to know, but that's rather broad though. ;)

@liam, I don't think this should be classified as a [RTS](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_strategy).

Bioshock Infinite Early Linux Port Report

Quoting: sarmadAny idea what the performance looks like on Windows for the same hardware/settings? I am wondering how much overhead the port is adding.
There's quite a hit according to hidekin's post.

The game's amazing! I'm still eagerly awaiting the previously mentioned pass on Linux bugs to happen (the terrain bug [External Link]'s been about for a while now).

Quoting: N30NIf enemy units & buildings didn't produce light, they could then scrap the "fog of war". I think that'd work much better.
What would be the point in that? You would never see anything then.
Your units still have lights so you'd be able to see the enemy when they are near like now. You just wouldn't have glowing units/building that disappear into the dark for no reason. The "fog of night" alone, should be enough. ;)

Is this their first game on linux ?
They published the game for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 [External Link], hence the logo. They don't seem to have anything to do with the versions available on Steam which are self published by Housemarque.

The Entroware 'Proteus' Gaming Laptop, Reviewed For Linux

Quoting: liamdaweThe touchpad scrolling is a little iffy, as I had to turn off two finger scrolling as it didn't work a good 70% of the time, and seemed to work at random.
I'd suspect it's one of those cheap touchpads missing multi touch support then (but I agree, at lease it doesn't click :)). If so the two finger emulation is done via pressure, so just press a bit harder. Once you know this it shouldn't be an issue (and lots of tweaking and other options are always available via the synaptics driver settings).

Nvidia PhysX Source Code Now Available Free On GitHub

Quoting: FutureSutureDoes this mean that games like Borderlands 2 could still receive PhysX support on Linux?
Only if Aspyr were willing to update their port for it.
I opened a support ticket about this back when Nvidia added Linux support to PhysX, they said it's not planned due the game using a old and modified version of PhysX (OSX is also apparently missing PhysX).
