Valve upgrades Steam Families and Game Recording in the latest Steam Beta

Quoting: TurkeysteaksSpeaking of families, does anyone know what happens if you own a game (the only copy) and someone else in the family is playing it? In ye olde families, the library owner would just kick them off with a 5 minute warning but I'm unsure who gets priority in the new system. My buddy has a habit of just leaving games running constantly, and it's yet to be a problem but I want to know I can kick him off if need be in the future haha.
Steam Families now count the amount of licenses across the Steam Family members, ie if you have 2 licenses you can play two across the group and if have have only one.. I guess you cannot.

Note that you buddy now has to live in your household or otherwise your Steam "Family" will not work.

Time survival roguelite in space Cozy Space Survivors is out now

Quoting: Liam DaweSounds like you might have a bug in the Steam client there. I would suggest gathering all info and reporting on GitHub [External Link].
May very well be, but I'm currently in contact with the developer (he is really a nice guy!) who tries to replicate that. If he does not come to a conclusion, it is a good idea to open a ticket, I think.

Didn't work for me, sadly.

It always downloads the Windows version, after going to the compatibility tab, checking it (Boxtron is displayed) and removing it, downloads the Linux version.

After closing the Steam client and re-opening it, the installation reverts to the Windows version. It's not a big deal, but slightly irritating.

Currently, although there is a Linux build for the game, there is a slight problem:

If you install the game in Linux, the Windows binaries get downloaded and after going to the compatibility options and back, these are replace with the Linux version. This happens every time, when the Steam client is restarted.

Could someone (who is a developer on Steam or has the knowledge) perhaps give the developer of the game some hints how to fix that? I'm not a developer, but I think it is configuration issue, as the game itself has the correct tagged depots according to SteamDB.

HELLDIVERS 2 sees over 130K bad reviews on Steam as Sony double down
6 May 2024 at 9:14 am UTC

Quoting: zkompPlaystation/Sony just announced some hours ago they would be walking back, and not force the PSN linking.

Good news for everyone in those 177 blocked countries without PSN access, and all the rest of us who liked to play the game with them. Just hope people fix their reviews now (400k bad reviews in the span of 3 days needing cleanup)
The mob got exactly what they wished for. They said that they were scammed because they have bought Helldivers 2 in a country where PSN is not available, so Sony removed these countries to match the availability of PSN.

You get what you wish for (and don't complain afterwards). This also applies to any consequences what may come in addition.

And no, I also dislike the requirement, but this was already on the Steam store page from day one. The neutering of the enforcement was a decision of the Arrowhead CEO (he admitted that in a recent Twitter post) due to stability issues of the horde of players that overloaded the servers.

Also, this was the only game what demanded PSN, all other published games of Sony either don't have a PSN login at all or it is really optional for fluff.
