Not sure what you mean, it works fine on Desktop & Steam Deck despite being unsupported. This is another game that proves the Steam Verified system doesn't make a lot of sense sometimes…

Sony say their PSN account requirement on PC is so you can enjoy their games 'safely'

I mean… I guess it would make sense for me to have the PSN requirement if it offered any benefit whatsoever. I don't own many games with 3rd party logins but where I do, it does offer something to the consumer. Rockstar's DRM/Launcher for Red Dead 1/2 at least offers something in the form of cloud saves. Although that arguably could be integrated into Steam itself. For the first-party XBOX games, you have some benefits in the form of compatibility between PC and console (which is cool I guess, but I don't own any console so not really relevant for me).

However, there is nothing that justifies this account requirement for Zero Dawn Remastered. It offers no cloud saves and no compatibility of any kind with playstation, I would at least expect at least that it recognized my old saves if I had previously played Zero Dawn on a PS4 console, and import them. But no such functionality exists. The PSN overlay offers the trophies but Steam has its own built-in achievements so tropies are utterly pointless. And it's a singleplayer game so no multiplayer that would need to be managed from outside Steam for cross-play or something.

Palworld dev details the patents Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are suing for

Would this also allow Nintendo to sue the likes of Horizon, because you can override and mount creatures like Chargers? What about games that allow you to tame wild horses like theRed Dead Series? Where does this end?

This is absolutely ridiculous. How is it even allowed to patent mechanics like 'catching and riding creatures' in the first place? They could sue a ton of games on that basis, like Ark: Survival, Monster Hunter Wings of Ruin, paleo Pines and many others. All those allow you to do that

I disagree with unnecessary telemetry... especially when it's default on. That's Windows level of ignorance from the devs

Steam Deck SteamOS 3.6.20 update released for everyone

My biggest issue, night mode killing performance, is still not resolved. Despite the fact that I found a bug report about it that dated back to basically forever. Every day at 10pm,when night mode enables, the fps drops to single digits for a few seconds. It's so annoying

Check out Proton-Sarek if you have an older GPU for Windows games on Linux

That's cool, but i'm wondering how much 'older' does a gpu need to be to not support Vulkan 1.3?

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered may need a workaround on desktop Linux

Here's a tutorial on how to import savegames on linux, written for Steam Deck but the steps should be pretty similar for Desktop: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2561580/discussions/0/4634860269337596243/ [External Link]

Quoting: KushoThe command did make the game launch, (Add -showlinkingqr in the field for Launch Options) but you can not import games from the previous game on Linux. Horizon Zero Dawn was installed in the default dir and Remastered did not detect it. Luckily I dual boot, so I booted into Windows, and installed both Remaster and complete. Then Imported my latest save, saved in Remastered, and booted back into Fedora. The game worked for a bit. I tried to clear a nearby bandit camp, and died. When I started back at the nearest campfire, my controls were off. I was using a PS5 controller to play. When I pressed L2 to hold my bow, and pressed R2 to draw, the game did nothing. It did not seem to register R2. But when I let go of L2 and pressed R2 by itself I would do a spear attack, so R2 did still register. But I could not fire my bow. I went to setup, made sure I was on the default PS5 controller scheme, but still it did not work. I tried setting a custom config, but no it still did not work. I could not fire my bow at all. Until they fix this bug the game is not playable. I can still play in Windows, but I dislike running anything in Windows. I just keep it boot-able for work and college exams.
I remember reading about this bow issue on the forum, there was no clear conclusion on what causes it. But, Windows users experience it too. And most likely the savegame input did not work because while Zero Dawn was installed on your system, its files are in a different proton prefix that the game is unable or not programmed to find. So you'd likely need to copy the existing savegames to the Proton Prefix for Zero Dawn Remastered so the game can find them.

While I do agree about the delisting being shameful, I like that they made it a separate package and not a forced upgrade for the original + PSN requirement. I hated the Witcher 3's forced Next Gen update because it broke all my 100+ mods…
