Quoting: tuubiThe trailer really does evoke some traumatic memories of dig dug. The style is spot on. I bet I'd be very bad at this one as well.

Quoting: PenglingI love Bomberman
Until you said that I never knew.......
I thought she just looked like bomberman! Aren't avatar images supposed to be accurate representations of us? I feel deceived...

(I totally look like a happy penguin. Ask anyone!)
And im a happy fat penguin with full belly of food....... Ask anyone....
I definitely look like the Chubby Green Yamo.
I transitioned into a bee with a V8 engine and wheels......
Quite the metamorphosis.

Quoting: slaapliedjeBut yeah, Arch is, I feel, not a distributions for beginners to use in the first place.
It totally is imho - but the more beginner you are, the more you have to be willing to learn and read the wiki. But if you ARE willing, Arch is a perfectly fine beginner distro. Especially with the amazing community - the "elitism" that is often criticized comes down to "we won't help you if you are unwilling to put in even the slightest effort" in my experience.
. . . Which I'm not, so I'll stick to Mint.

Quoting: NouserSo, the Tencent money is finally drying up... I just hope they'll release UE as open source before going bankrupt.
Technically the source for Unreal Engine is 'open'. https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.3/en-US/downloading-unreal-engine-source-code/ [External Link]

I'm not sure what the license is, but you can download it and mess with it now.
My understanding is it's "source available". You can't fork it or redistribute it.

Quoting: pleasereadthemanualIt's a joke. I'm an Arch user. I have never actually said that to anyone, and you are the first person to take offense to it in my 2 years of using this site.
OMG, I really should have more coffee before I read stuff... I thought for a minute that your user name was 'Pleasured the Manual"
Hmmm . . . manually? Well after all, I'm sure manuals need love too.

There is still enough left of my 8 year old self to insist that that dinosaur she's riding is not a parasaurolophus.

Parasaurolophus was a duck-billed dinosaur with this big awesome crest coming up and back from the top/back of the head, that was like a hollow tube kind of thing with a round top. At the time I was a dinosaur kid, scientists thought maybe they used 'em to resonate and make really loud, resonant sounds. Like maybe it could sound like a tuba or something. It pains me to say this, because I want to be happy to see a purple dinosaur that isn't THE ONE WHICH MUST NOT BE NAMED, but Parasaurolophus was much cooler than that generic dinosaur. If they were gonna say parasaurolophus, they should have used one.

I read the letter . . . sounds like it's been really tough, and I feel for him.

But it really hit me, the way he was writing it's like there's some kind of massive 2008-style recession. But in the broader economy, there isn't really. North America's basically OK by recent standards except for insanely expensive housing, which is a really big deal but I mean unemployment is low and economic growth seems to be happening. As I understand it Britain is in tough shape, mostly due to a series of self-inflicted wounds and self-inflicted Conservative governments, and Germany's not doing well because of expensive/scarce natural gas due to geopolitical reasons, but overall it doesn't seem like the general economy is as bad as the situation seems to be for gaming companies. Anyone know why the gaming industry in particular is in bad shape?

Interesting if true, yes. Kind of cuts against most of what I've heard about Mac lately though. Source?

Porn too. It's why VHS beat out Betamax. lol
And we can also thank military usage, and development, for a significant push in technology over the years
What, you mean that Arpanet thing? It'll never catch on.
Meanwhile, let's not forget the massive influence of particle physics research.
