Quoting: BeamboomProblem is, 95% of the user "reviews" of the game don't even touch upon how the actual game is as it stands today. They go fully meta and leave a thumb down.Well in this case, it's not like you have to spend money to find out.
That's user "reviews" in a nutshell. Whiner valley.
I don't f'ing CARE what was originally promised or how the first game was or whatever. I want a good game to play, and don't want idealism and fanatism dictating if I should like something or not.

As I say, this habit was established in like the 2000s. Probably less of an issue these days, but since it's a habit that has served me well but has never to my knowledge caused me any trouble, I think some upside versus zero downside is pretty worth it. There's always enough disk space that giving / more than it really needs doesn't take up much.

Quoting: 14Mostly for reinstalls and similar shenanigans. I'm not a tinkerer; if something goes wrong (which, it's been a while, but my habits were formed in the bad old days) my calculation is a reinstall is very likely to be faster than fucking around until I get the right fix (after reverting several wrong ones). And sometimes with Mint just "installing the new version, wiping the old" can work better than doing an upgrade.Quoting: Purple Library GuyWhat are you gaining from that? When you copy to a new drive, do you do it at block level or something? Are you using different mount options? Different filesystem? I'm curious why you like it very much, enough to have to manage a synthetic size limitation.Quoting: 14Save yourself the headache and use a single partition layout next time. The benefits of multiple partitions on the same disk are not worth it.I don't mess with much, but I do very much like to keep a separate /home partition.

The stats, though, seem to show quite a lot of Linux games being released on Steam. Doubtless none of them are AAA, but that's pretty much how it's always been. I myself have been somewhat surprised that this is the case; I was expecting a serious dip from the rise of Proton. But it seems as if general interest in the platform has risen enough to more or less offset that.

Quoting: DMJCLinux native gaming is basically dead.It isn't, though. On the anecdotal side you can look at cases like this, but then you can also look at several GoL headlines just in the last few games about games that included native Linux, including a couple where I thought "Really?"

This reminds me of a very old bit. Phil Foglio (the guy behind "Girl Genius") way back in the day had a little comic strip in Dragon Magazine called "What's New" which involved silly spoof game reviews, among other things.
And he was very positive about the new microgame "Escape from Cthulhu": "All you do is light the black candles provided, read aloud the enclosed incantation . . . And then escape!"

This sounds lovely. And yet . . . I'm not sure I find the idea of getting filled with empathy dealing with heavy personal subjects to be . . . fun.
