Quoting: WorMzyWhich in turn doesn't sound too practical for something I've always assumed was supposed to be a pretty turnkey affair--hit a button and be ready to play games, kind of thing.Quoting: rustybroomhandleI think Arch-based would be the sensible option here. Arch-derived distros just seem way more stable and upgrade-fubar-proof than debian-derived ones.Really? Debian is the gold standard for stability. The problem is that people want a stable OS with a "bleeding edge" graphics stack, and that's where the house of cards falls over.
Arch can provide the bleeding edge, but it requires that YOU (the end user) know what you're doing.

Quoting: TheRiddickIs this the game where you could end up being banned if you kill a moderator or developer? (you'll know you did after you get kicked or banned) not sure if this was the same game?Since this game isn't released yet, not even to early access, it seems unlikely.

Lots of cool dinosaurs!!! :woot:
I felt like some of the animations, especially the ceratopsians, somehow felt too "light". These are herbivores bigger than elephants, characterized by big bony structures in their heads. Elephants can move fast, but there's still this feeling of heft and momentum to their movements. I feel like ceratopsian dinosaurs should have a similar vibe to their motion. Be more realistic, but also feel cooler.

Quoting: Cyba.CowboyDunno about you, but I haven't seen any USB-C memory sticks on sale yet. In general, you want some old ports for your old stuff; adaptors are a PITA. It might be time to shift the weighting towards more "C" though.Quoting: chr* USB-C as main charging port or bust.Actually, I'd love to see a laptop just abandon USB "Type A" ports altogether in favor of (only) USB "Type C" ports...

I have to say, so far things are working out roughly as I hoped. That is, it isn't dying, but it shows no signs of taking over. I've always said I want it to succeed enough to make the idea of developing games to include a Linux target more mainstream, give Vulkan a boost and so on--but I don't want it to succeed enough to make streaming the dominant form of gaming, because I really hate that idea.
So far, so good.
