While UFC-Que Choisir won the initial trial, Valve won the appeal, and the Cour de cassation (the French equivalent to the US' Supreme Court) upheld the appeal's ruling.
So you're saying France's legal system is just as corrupt as the US? That's depressing.
I feel like you're putting words in my mouth here.
Don't see how. That was the conclusion I came to based on what you said. Not my problem if you want to take it that way.

Plague Inc: Evolved is getting a big new Aliens & Anti-Vaxxers DLC and free update

Considering we're starting to have a big problem with the measles making a come back where I live because of idiot anti-vaxxers refusing to vaccinate their children because they believe the socialists (aka Democrats) will brain wash them.

No joke, I've talked to someone who believes this, and they are very much not alone in that and similar beliefs. We're screwed.

Alien is a word, I don't think anyone can claim it as intellectual property. There might be specific cases where it could be trademarked, but it's like with Apple--they can sue you for calling a computer an apple, but they can't sue you for calling an apple an apple. In this case, the game is calling an alien an alien. I don't think that's actionable.
Because the product looks similar enough that Disney could argue it could confuse consumers. I'm not saying I want that to happen. Just saying I wouldn't be surprised if they had to change the name.

Serious Sam: Shatterverse announced as a new co-op roguelite FPS

I adore the SS series. Bought the boxed copies of the original games when they first came out in stores and have played them many times over the years. Hard pass on this though, especially since I dislike co-op. Hopefully Serious Sam 5 from Croteam is on the way at some point.

Behaviour Interactive have acquired 7 Days to Die developers The Fun Pimps

Never heard of Behavior Interactive before. IMO, this reeks of cashing out, as I don't really hear about people playing this in any significant number anymore. I'll be anything the game will be loaded with MTX soon.

Would never, ever trust a free vpn. I use ExpressVPN and am very happy with it. Though I can understand why the expense would put people off.

Another new lawsuit against Valve in Washington USA takes aim at lootboxes
10 Mar 2026 at 4:20 pm UTC Likes: 4

I mean, Valve knew what they were doing all this time. They had to have known they were playing with fire. They've been playing Russian roulette with this stuff, and the bullet may have finally struck. They could have and should have stopped years ago, but I have a feeling greed overruled rationality, as it usually does.

That being said, I doubt this lawsuit gets anywhere near billions. Hopefully it puts an end to this practice though. Hey, if Valve loses this revenue stream, then maybe they will be incentivized to make new games.
