It's amazing that this articles doesn't include a single sentence explaining what either Stream Deck or Stream PI is (no, "easy access to a ton of functions at the touch of a button" is not an explanation, it's as generic as it can be and it can apply to anything from an electric piano to a microwave oven), and it links a 20 minute video as introduction for those who know nothing about it. Come on!

That was a very long, interesting and often sad read. Thanks for linking that. I always assumed DOSBox upstream was simply dead because people left, and not that it was such an inaccessible environment, ignoring and discouraging important community contributions. I hope the right people will flock to your new, community-embracing fork, and DOSBox ecosystem will get revitalized through it. It the project endures and clearly works better on modern systems, with better user experience, I'm sure eventually companies like GOG will use it instead of the original. And Linux distributions might default to it as well, same as what happened to OpenOffice vs LibreOffice or defaulting to wine-staging instead of wine (at least in Fedora; but vanilla wine seems to have been improving a lot recently in this regard). Perhaps DOSBox SVN authors might then recognize the importance of the community and join efforts again, however unlikely it seems now. Thank you for your persistence and energy, I love what you're doing.

I'm extremely happy for your project, because I long felt that dosbox was missing user friendly features (like window resizing). But of course it would be even better if you could the same change in the original project instead of starting a new one.

There is a release every 6 months, but each one is supported for ~13 months. So you can upgrade just once per year.

I don't understand how you can install a GOG Windows game through Steam. In the screenshot in the article, the game is already installed, and you create a shortcut to run it through Steam. That's OK. But how do you install it, from a GOG installer, using Proton?

@liamdave The video comparison placement is utterly confusing. Are the descriptions on the left and right, or on top and bottom? It's difficult to figure out which is which. Why don't you simply place it side by side and descriptions below/above, as usual?

Why don't you post it to github, so that it's easier to bookmark/follow/download/etc? I get very discouraged every time I see someone trying to maintain a comprehensive info as a forum post.
