I'm trying to play TIS-100 but with no programming background, it's difficult. So far I've solved the first 7 or 8 puzzles, but I'll definitely keep going.
I have Shenzhen I/O on my wishlist, though to be honest I'd much rather play around with my Arduino or Raspberry which gives me knowledge I can actually use. Shenzhen seems to be much the same, only with 'fantasy' components.

Last time I bought a new mouse I bought a Roccat, at the time they were nearly the only ones who fully supported Linux. I guess I might look at the Razer ones in the future too, though I'm not a big fan of those green LEDs they all have.

Quoting: Debianeerthis is great news. Their stuff is all overpriced, but they've saved my gaming life, having left handed mice (dat lefty naga, doe) which work flawlessly under Linux..You use the mouse left-handed? I'm left-handed too but have always use the mouse right-handed.

Nearly 4 years later, Steam still won’t close to the tray icon on Linux without workarounds

It actually works like it's supposed to on my Gentoo Plasma-5 install. I've just double-checked it, neither the steam.desktop nor the steam.sh include the STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE=1 argument. Unless it's hidden somewhere else? The launcher I use just invoke the steam.sh script with no arguments.
When I minimise Steam it minimises to the taskbar, and when I click the cross it "closes" to the system tray icon. Isn't this how it's supposed to work?

My top list of must-have strategy games on Linux as of right now

The game may be hard to get into, but once you learn it it's really great.

Quoting: TobiSGDAge of Wonders 3. Found this little gem on Steam not long ago, and it is incredible.This. Of all the strategy games available for Linux, this is my favourite. I just picked up both DLCs on a sale, they add plenty of content, though the game is pefectly playable without any DLC (I've played it for a year without DLC).

If I can't work towards a better future and a 'happy' ending in this game, if everything is just doom and gloom, I'd rather play something else.

Quoting: Guest(...) I realize I'm in the minority with this viewpoint, but I figured I'd throw my $0.02 in.Not necessarily, I feel exactly the same. I compare it a little like playing a game set in Nazi Germany, working for the Nazis. It would leave a very bitter taste in my mouth, and I wouldn't be able to really get into my character, but would try and distance myself from it as much as possible.

I suppose the question we all want answered is: do cloaks show?

@Swiftpaw: There's a difference between Paradox the developer and Paradox the publisher regarding DLC. With Paradox the developer I agree with you 100%, their games have WAY too many DLCs, and it's come to the point where I never even play their games I own any longer, as I'm so far behind in DLC and have no interest in continuing to throw money at them.
Many Paradox published games, though, are quite reasonable regarding DLC. Pillars of Eternity had 2 rather large expansions (yes, those are more akin to expansions that DLCs) that expanded the story but were in no way required for a complete play through. You might argue that the two expansions should have been combined as one, but I still think play time versus price was quite reasonable. Also, it was clear a lot of work had been put into them (it wasn't just some shit unit reskin and a new song!).

I have a great respect for Mr. Tyson and genuinely admire his work in communicating science to the masses, but usually these kinds of 'games' disappoint. They are often targeted at younger people and are more focused on their message than on the game aspect. I'll most likely give it a pass and instead read a good book on cosmology.

Quoting: lucifertdarkWPlease don't drag this in here, this is a site about Linux gaming.Quoting: GuestExplain to us all why you think he is a fraud and liar. A "fraud" means deception. A "liar" also means deception. What exactly has he lied about?Well Man Made Climate Change is a huge Fraud & a Lie & he's all in on it.
The Climate Change nonsense is based entirely on a computer model that has been wrong for the last 20 years & has been proven to be wrong & yet frauds like Tyson still parrot it out as being the truth.

X-Plane 11 flight simulator will release this year, with Linux support

Anyway, I already own X-Plane 10 and it is a quite realistic sim, I usually use it to brush up my skills before a check ride and it serves very well for that. If you are interested in aviation, I can highly recommend it. I suppose X-Plane 11 will only be better.

Quoting: wolfyrion... ONLY pilots will buy their game since they earn a lot of $$$....Hahahaha, if only that were true!!! Once upon a time what you said was very true, but in the last 10 years salaries and working conditions have plummeted drastically for pilots, and in many parts of the world it is now usual for pilots to pay to work for a few years.

So why is this game bad? Your article doesn't say...
I went and watched your video of it, and to me it looked like a super cheap shooter, but I didn't spot anything inherently horrible about it - no bugs, the shooting seemed to work etc.
At the price they are asking what is the problem? Sure, you and I would never buy this, but I could easily see some 3rd world kid picking it up who otherwise couldn't afford a 'real' shooter, and actually having fun with it. So where's the harm?
You really can't compare this to a AAA shooter at the price they are asking for it.
