Personally running gitea instead of the resource-hungry-monster gitlab. But ye, I was mirroring to github.com, maybe I'll switch my open source projects, we'll see.
I don't trust any company but less so Microsoft.

Quoting: DuncIn that case, you might as well say the GOG website is DRM.Can you please fix your quote? I never wrote that! Thanks.

Quoting: UltraAltesBrotWow, thanks a lot for that one. Didn't know I was a fanatic until now. You opened my eyes :)Quoting: Doc AngeloDon't even try to argue with fanatics, it won't lead anywhere.Quoting: MaelraneSteam itself is DRM.I don't think so. But maybe we have different definitions of what DRM means.
Albeit it's the only one I accept and can live with, it is, per definition, DRM.
The Steam client is the very same as GOG Galaxy or the GOG website. You can buy and download games. Valve has their own DRM implementation (part of Steamworks), but it's completely optional. As a developer or publisher, you don't have to use the DRM tools provided by Steam, or your own DRM. You can just not use any DRM and still have your game on Steam.

Quoting: Doc AngeloValve can still release the game on Steam without DRM protection. Half-Life 2 is DRM free for example.Steam itself is DRM.

Albion Online fixes lag issues that plagued servers

I was WRONG. The thread itself is about Arch, BUT:

Especially this is what soured the whole comment for me. It still feels like: we gladly take your money, but you're not a priority (again, I am totally aware I am using a NON supported distribution. Doesn't change the fact that I could play nearly the whole beta and SUDDENLY it broke!)

Quoting: LakortaYes, but first:Quoting: MaelraneAs soon as I can play again (LIKE THE WHOLE BETA!) without having to manually fix a lot of stuff, I am in again.Could you link that thread (if it's not too much work)?
Yes, Arch is not supported by default, but they broke it in May, not only for Arch and then a dev wrote "well, Linux is only < 0.5% of the player base", that nearly killed it for me.
I mean, taking money is all okay, even from a tiny minority, but then supporting the platform is suddenly not a priority, because it's so small a userbase? (the thread I talk about was opened in a very polite way on reddit and it was NOT about Arch, but Ubuntu afair)

It's not a claim but a fact. I understand that ppl including myself would want the number to be higher but it isn't. Also, I simply used it as an valid argument since the number itself is quite low and the number of players using a non supported distribution is likely even much lower and so is the number of players among them for which the game doesn't work.

The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

XCOM2 is awesome, still I liked the first part more. I dislike all that pressure and running through the missions. I lose too many men just because of that stupid timers :(
