I think this is a real issue. We (as a community) have been hit too many times and now there are active, vocal "do not preorder" groups out there. Preordering is starting to be treated like a serious breach of best-practices for a linux gamer, which is unfortunate.

I did NOT preorder under Windows and I will not under Linux. I simply refuse to buy the cat in a sack. No matter how much anyone tries to convince me.

And if there are too many bonuses involved in pre-ordering I'll skip the game completely. Easy as that.

Gaming is a hobby, nothing more.

Thanks for the articles and comments. I'll wait then. I mean, I have an (now slightly outdated) Radeon HD 6950 and will wait for the new AMDs to make my decision on which one to buy. So if the framerate is fine only "most of the time" with a current graphicscard I'll simply wait.

For me one of the best games ever. I bought it 3/4 year ago in a sale, and paid full price for the addon to show my support, because this game just hit me so damn hard.

I love it and it's one of the reasons I completely dumped my Windows.

The shop on their site is what is hindering me from buying the game. I mean, there is just too much which seems to go in the direction "pay to win" or rather "pay to have fun".
