Welll there goes my willingness to get Dead Space. Surely selling out to fascists will be good for their company and not a horrifically terrible idea as it's always shown itself to be in the past.

As far as native Unreal Engine goes (especially from Bloober Team) I gotta say - I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't run WELL, of course not it's Unreal Engine, but it's a lot better than I thought it'd be. Steam Deck really shouldn't use Proton by default anymore, native runs the CPU cooler and still runs at an (albeit inconsistent at times) 30 frames now that FSR is available.
Oh yeah. They don't say it in the patch notes, but FSR was added to the Linux build. Still no XeSS or DLSS, but FSR is still a REALLY solid upgrade from TSR.

you know for all the "Linux ports break after 5 years" I'm seeing, the only native games I've ever consistently had trouble running were the Wine-packaged ones. Even Prey from 2007 worked fine natively once I got 32-bit stuff installed. Starting to think that whole thing is overblown...
A first look at the spooky game OD from KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS

Kojima I can't guarantee much in this life but one thing I can guarantee is Unreal Engine is NOT "one step higher than Death Stranding 2"

EDIT: THEY JUST FIXED THIS, keeping this up because I was a judgmental asshole worthy of ridicule and I'll gladly eat my words if it means I get this shit native
So let me get this straight. They ported the game to a whole nother platform, arbitrarily restricted it to a device that benefits very little, and will not be making it available for desktop systems that make up more marketshare, have significantly more users asking for it, would benefit from it far more, and would actually be impactful to the wider industry for having a GOTY winner ported natively to the platform.
Instead, they spent all that time and effort limiting it to one device whose only benefit to a native port will be less battery consumption and marginally faster loading, won't even run at 60 FPS and in all likelyhood doesn't even have the potential to earn a single extra sale.
...that just feels like a waste of development resources. What was the point? Why even bother?
Yeah, nah, I'll just take my chances running the Steam Deck version on my desktop. If it doesn't work at least it's better than the hardly playable lagfest that is Baldur's Gate 3 through Proton, cuz then it's not giving me false hope of having fun.

Wooow, you can edit reviews now. A feature every other platform's had since the beginning of time. So cool.
What a sad, stagnant platform. I haven't had a high opinion of GOG for a while and this isn't doing anything to help it. It's all so performative and artificial. Definitely not shopping there anytime soon.

Unlikely Nintendo can do much unless you actually try sending over the game with the ROM.Then again, Yuzu didn't break any laws and Nintendo still threatened them with no legal basis in doing so. So evidently they're well above the law and can sue whoever they feel like blaming for their problems that day.
Valve fixes Baldur's Gate 3 issue on Steam Deck / SteamOS

Honestly if anything, the Steam Deck is the one device that DOESN'T need a native port.

I honestly can't comprehend why people keep bothering with 'Native Linux'PC ports used to be broken as hell in the 2000's, should they have stopped porting games to PC and instead relied on Valve to make an Xbox 360 emulator for their storefront? It'd give better compatibility after all and put less strain on the developers.
It's a shame they've chosen to do that. The desktop Linux market is significantly bigger than the Deck market.I agree, hope this is temporary. Baldur's Gate 3 runs like complete garbage through Proton to me. Like a third of the game's total CPU usage is just Wine services, the audio is constant crackling with a little bit of the game audio mixed in and it has all kinds of extremely distracting visual bugs I imagine are brought about by Proton as well.
