Companies always only talking about Open Source using negative words. It very bad they use godot and do not told about this. I known closed-source programs, which use OpenSource and they are a lot, but they only mention about this in license text. Nobody normal reads license, because companies told humans that licenses were only to battle with piracy.

they dont have to, the game isnt powered by godot , i mean, the rendering isnt done using godot, nor the physics, audio or multiplayer, just an level editor they made.

never mind, it was not about the game, they riped off godot totally '-'

Game store itch.io has "deindexed" adult content due to payment processor scrutiny

what happen to the content that peope already purchased? it still can be downloaded?

" It is also part of the bigger war against adult topics, if you include the age verification laws and regulations being thrown around. And the big question is are they going to do the same thing when more attacks come in?"

im not against age verification (that actually work, not an button asking if you are over 18) for adult content, but that show how much of a slipery slope this can be.

for exampe if porn is rendered illegal on your country tomorrow, and you have to prove that you are legally allowed to access somethin to access any 18+ content, they you cant access anything in your country without runing a lot of risk.

another more likely scenario, porn will not be ilegal, but payment processors/credit card companies will see what you've being purchasing/funding , so even if you find another service that stil sell this content, they can punish you directly instead of going after just the ones seling +18 content, they can render your bank account null and void.

for those who said, if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to see, i hope you are happy.

According to one source Linux hits over 6% desktop user share
21 Jul 2025 at 4:13 pm UTC

he is not wrong, many things can go wrong.
for example locked bootloaders like some android devices, proprietary only drivers for many devices, distros with some proprietary software to differentiate thenselves (steamOS main interface is the steam client not the desktop enviroment, i can see some proprietary DE emerging in the future as well from other vendors), and the worst part: so long its good enough for most people, they wont bother to try to have even more freedom.

linux fragmentation is already an issue, we have tons of distros and the easier way to make sure an game will work on all of then now and in the future is actually targeting windows and trying to run the game on wine, most distros care about ensuring wine work "flawless" on their distro because its a very important application (and even then flawless might not be so flawless, it may just mean we havent tested enough to find the issues)
now imagine with either 1 big distro (most likely android, google is killing chromeOS, merging it code to the desktop mode of android, android will be their desktop OS) or a few big ones with proprietary crap being the ones used by 90% of the users or more, we will have tons of apps that wont work on any free (libre) distro, and if we want to play anything recent or have a descente quality of life, we will have to use then.

Old School Rally gets hit with a DMCA and taken down from Steam

Yeah, I am at a loss here. Copyright is incomprehensible to me. You ask for permission, you get it, have a license and then get taken down anyway?
anyone can purchase something, reupload it claiming it was the original author to make a profit on thirdy party content.

If anything, try opengameart.org, where yyhe content have a licence that clearly states what you can and can't do. At least, that way, you can't get sued or DMCA'd.
that wont solve the issue as i said above, the probem is about figuring out who own the copyriht to an piece of media, any site need an contentID technology that, unless its perfect, wont catch all the cases of plagiarism.

i would say, even pirate sites need an contentID if they want to at least give proper credits to the original authors so those who want can support then.

well, at least it was not a car company saying "you cant use our car", while i understand their point, gaming is a different media, its not like someone was making their cars and they use this excuse to kill game preservation so screw then.

starting at around episode 9 of season 1 where it suddenly starts becoming the anime I wanted it to be instead of exactly the "cute girls doing cute things" slice of life I didn't want it to be.
i liked watching some sport animes despite not liking sports , and cute girls doing cute things / slice of life is my favorite genre (despite none of my top 5 being that)

but gacha? i will pass, i miss the days that i saw an trailer of an game with anime asthetics and got excited thinking: the worst that can happen is it being bad, nowadays, i think, the worst it can and probably will hapen is it being a gacha, and even worse if its good because i will know i will be missing something but hey, life is too short to play another gacha game.

i was too adcited to the ones i played and said to my self, this one im playing will be the last.

Valve gets pressured by payment processors with a new rule for game devs and various adult games removed

I hate Plagarised Information Synthesis System content (LLM's are Artificial, but not "Intelligent") as a way for companies to line their pockets and shaft human creators, but this is the wrong way to go about dealing with it for anybody considering using such a censorship tactic to quash the Slop.
i loved the term, i will use it with the PISS acronym.
i hate how big companies can get away with stealing GPL code, oh no, we didnt wrote this code, the machine did it! so its ok to use GPL code on non gpl software!
sigh.

tons of volunteers wrote code so we can control our own machines and now this code is being stolen to be used on to build non free software.

Thinking about this a little more, I think a better solution would be to mark certain games as not being purchasable through specific payment providers.
that dont work because you can put money into your steam wallet using any payment provider, so they wont accept it eitherway.

The solution isn't moving the goalposts and choosing to be ruled by a different region in place of another (see user Iod's comment above about similar game censorship in Germany). This only delays the problem.
maybe, but they lose money in the process and US as an whole grow less than europe.
the fact that a single country have so much influence in the global economy has to stop, censorship like that was made possible due to this.
and if someone is willing to take this opportunity to grow thanks to the incopetence of others, im help in supporting then, not to mention, if they know that was the reason why they grew so much, they will think twice before repeating this kind of abuse of power.
