Back on topic, this is the usual US puritanism. Decapitating people is fun, boobies are wrong
NAILED IT!
its amazing how sex, something every human being probably going to do on the life, is censored by puritans, your game show some female skin? you are a monster, you hate woman blablabla...
oh, an game where you can murder people? that is totally fine, even my kids play that!

Not all 18+ games are low quality, but those which are were dominating the lists by their sheer volume.
nailed, i hate how hard it is to find an good +18 game, the public dont help either because they accept anything, if they really dig it they wouldnt .

But ya know, if there's one thing I've learnt over the years it is this... People who want to make smut, and people who want to consume it, will always find a way to meet each other halfway somehow.

on the other hand, if they can censor this, they can censor anything.

climate change is a fact that some people still insist in denying, but an boner ?
if people dont fight against it now, when they start censoring other stuff like climate change we cant expect people to prostest either.

Video Games Europe release a statement on Stop Killing Games
9 Jul 2025 at 5:59 am UTC

First they start off with trying to distract from what is actually being asked,
that reminds me of an epic Red Hat Commercial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE00uo3o_MU [External Link]

speaking of it, the new generation dont even know what FLOS fighted for, if we had won our battle, video game preservation would not even be a question of IF it would be a certainty.
i think we lost from the moment that we demanded just be able to play the games, we should have fighted to have 150% of it (eg: source code access) then setle down when the companies gave us just 110% (play + mods), that is how you do business ask for more than you want then settle on a midle ground, but we arent talking about business here, we are talking about changing the law so... yeah, it might be better to compromisse.
than to risk not have the law passing.

A Hat in Time gets a surprise update with DirectX 12 and Vulkan support
27 Jun 2025 at 9:43 am UTC

With the June 26th update they've added in support for DirectX 12 and Vulkan, which should help keep it running smoothly on modern systems. They're still currently recommending DirectX 9 for now.
this should also help save battery on handhelds ;P

Fedora Linux devs discuss dropping 32-bit packages - potentially bad news for Steam gamers
25 Jun 2025 at 4:21 am UTC Likes: 3

Horrible news, Bazzite is based on fedora, they will have to find another umbrela distro, or maintain a lot of extra stuff.

Other than unmaintained legacy software, they should not exist anymore. There is simply no good excuse for not having ported your application to 64 bits, if you're still working on it in 2025.
i think modern compilers target 64 bits by default, so you have to put some extra effort in order to support people with old machines, wich is a good thing actually...

i mean, there is no reason why an pixel art indie game shouldnt work on a potato pc that some poor people have in some country who barely have eletricity and internet , let alone modern computers.

i think we are entering another flash vs kill flash, x11 vs wayland discussion...

i recomend this presentation for anyone thinking legacy dont matter, but i dont think its your case:

OrangePi Neo gaming handheld with Manjaro Linux delayed until Q3 2025 with no exact date
12 Jun 2025 at 11:42 pm UTC

i think xbox killed the demmand for this, but one thing they might try is take advantage of trackpads, Steamdeck have trackpads but no games made to take advantage of then, instead they are used to improve the experience on existing games.
if they had tons of money and made some great games focusing trackpads, they could have something that only then and steam deck users can fully enjoy, giving people an reason to try their device, it will just need to be better in terms of cost or power than one device instead of a bunch.

but its very unlikely they can pull this off.
