Quoting: x_wingThe tickets talks about the steam bootstrap libs, which are fixed libs downloaded by steam. I think MayeulC referred to the requirement of installing 32 bit system wide packages, which is mandatory when installing steam from any repo.
"... need some basic 32-bit support from the host distribution ..." sounds different to me?
So they will deploy a 64 bit binary in a 32 bit package? AFAIK you can't set 32 bits dependencies in a 64 bit deb package.
Maybe some other composant of the game needs 32 bit support (like music, videos...)

And also one question too ; is it confilicting or affecting existing Wine Staging setup or is it build upon it but have completely different prefixes , environment etc?

Here's another way to look at the Linux market share on Steam

Buying new PC is synonym with Windows pre-installed with it. Linux, you must install it when you know it exists. So I think there will be a rebound in january or february.

But without big games of the top 5 played on Steam (like PUBG ?), will it be a big rebound ?

Quoting: chimpyFor anyone with experience with this emulator: what's more important, the CPU or the GPU?
In term of performances, CPU is more important in Dolphin, performances per cores is a very important thing for Dolphin (a "simple" Intel Pentium performs similar than AMD FX processors).

In term of display, some effects needs to be supported by the drivers / graphic card to be displayed correctly, this is affect performances.

In France, we have Shadow : https://shadow.tech/ [External Link]

But it is not a linux machine. More precisely, it's linux servers with windows machines in docks.
It seems to run greatly with a good internet connection (mostly fiber). Some e-sport teams runs with Shadow.

Civilization VI released for Linux, video and port report (updated)
10 Feb 2017 at 10:01 am UTC

Quoting: liamdaweUpdate 10th February: I did have one complete lock-up last night during the livestream. I'm not sure if it's a game bug or an NVIDIA driver bug, but all my cores suddenly went maxed-out and the game repeatedly dropped down to 1 FPS. Eventually it didn't recover and forced me to do a hard-reboot.
Last night, Civ IV doesn't closed properly. Need to go to terminal and kill it manually.

Quoting: razing32Ok , so I bought this to support Linux games.
But for some reason cant get it to start.
AMD FX-8350/Nvidia GTX770.

Funny thing is Civ 5 also fails to start. I can start that from CLI but this game throws an error saying i need the steam client. depsite the fact the steam client is open and i am logged on :(

Anybody else have any issues ?
I have an FX8350 / GTX970, no issues for me and my Xubuntu 16.04. I think you should look for other clue on your installation.

Quoting: jordicomaI have probably a "classic question". If I buy the boxed version and install with the steam code on linux. My money will go for the linux or windows version?
Your payment will most probably go to the original developer and the publisher since retail versions were already "sold" by the publisher before the Linux version was shipped. But your OS would count as Linux.
On french Civilisation V boxes, Linux is clearly on the box... I don't know if it is counted for Linux sales...
