As for DRM... I don't know why you are talking about that. I have no opinion on the subject and I highly respect Valves' work for the Linux ecosystem.
God, I hate that TLA, but here it is good, it means Direct Rendering Manager.

Kerbal Space Program: Making History Expansion is out expanding the game quite a lot

Quoting: GuestDid they ever fixed the fonts in the Linux version?
What issue? I didn't notice any font issues in my testing of the game + the DLC.
I had problem with missing fonts on kerbal and other games. I installed every font I could find and that solved it as I have not seen that problem again. I thought that was about Arch but Feda has ubuntu as an icon and mentioned it. strange. So it was not about Arch. Anyway, developers should never make hard assumptions about installed fonts. Such stupid dependencies should be regarded as bugs.

DayZ is not currently coming to Linux, but the developers are open to it

Quoting: Guestnot a big loss considering the game runs like crap anyway on windows,it won't be much better on linux.there are mostly negative reviews of it so glad that it's not coming over.
I always hope for one game that will just happen (not by design) to run like crap on windows but be ported on linux and will run wonderful. That would be a funny PR success for linux.

I don't get it, why do they need name/company/etc just to download a report?

I would say, forget about amdgpu-pro.
focus only on amdgpu + mesa and randeon + mesa.
also forget about older mesa, focus only on latest mesa, everyone will get latest mesa eventually anyway.

see table https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units#Features_Overview [External Link]
at the bottom
/drm/amdgpu is supported on GCN 3rd gen and later.
/drm/radeon is for older gpus

if older than GCN 3rd gen can not be supported this will be quite bad but not totally unacceptable.

SuperTuxKart 0.9.3 is now officially out with new tracks and graphical upgrades, Steam release delayed

I remember having a lot of fun with STK 0.6, that was a lot time ago and of course the game is a lot different now. (and heavier, I was playing 0.6 on really old computers, 0.8 and later need reasonable new computers)

I wonder how hard would it be for a "company" to be created with the porpuse for bringing open source games to greater audience, So folks from STK or Battle for Wesnoth or other games would need to do nothing themselves for platforms like steam.

I wonder, does "Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal" count as TD? If it does it should be on the list. :)

A bunch of Feral Interactive Linux ports may be broken on Arch and others, here's a possible workaround

Quoting: DolusCould shipping games themselves in Flatpak/Snap format mitigate this library breakage problem? From a practical standpoint, this would be a major turn-off to would be former Windows users who are used to their games running for 10+ years.
flatpak is a step to the right direction but is not a complete solution yet. (snap - first I do not trust at all canonical as they are very responsible for the mess in the first place)

Windows is also a mess but they have been the major platform for many years so it is better. I do not doubt linux will be there in 10 years but I am quite angry and disappointing because we had a chance to do things right from the very beginning (that was 2012) but Valve and Canonical blundered miserably. If things were done right from the start this could actually be a great advantage of Linux against windows.

Quoting: FitzOmegaAre you talking about game developers or library developers? It shouldn't be the game developers job to check every unsupported version of Linux for bugs. Even more when it would be a constant mess anyway. It's the community's job to find bug and trying to report it. And they frankly shouldn't except fixes if they use unsupported OS.
You are wrong and here is why. All GNU/Linux distribution are the same OS. I Totally agree though that any game developer should not have to support different distros. So saying only ubuntu is "officially supported" is absolutely fine and good. On the other hand bugs found on other distros should not be completely ignored. They may prioritize as they like but completely ignoring because of the wrong mentality that different distros are different OS is very wrong. Especially Arch is the canary in a coal mine! If libraries broke because they upgraded they will also break on a future ubuntu release. It is that simple. I accept that developers do not care about the canary life ignoring it is also very bad omen.
