Quoting: Jahimself5.1 works very good for me. But I use Linux Mint, and the 5.1 appears properly on sound control panel and works out of the box. Sounds support is a lot better than in Mad Max imo.
Cut scenes do, game don't. Not sure what could be different regards Mint's sound config to any other distro's

I have looked to see if there are any libs missing but not found anything.

What's your setup?

Can you do a vid like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EybFn5voLio [External Link]

Have tried numerous things with no luck.

Quoting: MajGuanoDoes surround sound work, 5.1 or 7.1?
I'd like to know this too. It's really frustrating when almost every new game on Windows supports surround sound out of the box, but Linux ports of said games are often stuck to stereo only for some reason.
From my testing no it does not :(
Others in this very thread have it working fine, sounds like you might have something setup differently that is causing an issue.

I even piped it through the denon AV receiver to see if there was pass through.

I can't seem to find any way to change it it the menus so stereo only by the looks of it

Shame as this game screams for the use of it as I have both a 5.1 headset and a full surround system that could make use of it.

Quoting: GBeeHmm, time to get that GTX 1070/1080 then ...
Speaking as someone that has a 1080, go for a 980/ti and save some £££/$$$
Not quite good choice for the future :) They might not be perfect now but they will definitely get improved, it has a lot more potential for performance especially when Vulkan comes into play...
Following that train of thought get a AMD card
