Virtual Programming tease the Overlord Linux port in a new video

The Arma comments are totally fair, but from what I understand, Saints Row for PC is fairly dodgey for Windows as well. I find them playable, even on Intel graphics (with a wrapper script to force the GL version).
Here's hoping this works out well. It's already in my library, and behaves _bizarrely_ in Wine.

Is it as luck-based as many of the reviews say?
If so, I think I'll give it a pass. I can throw dice all alone already.

Well... I have an average of 40FPS with a GTX 960 and a core i5 4690K at 1080p on Ubuntu 14.04.3 64bit...
Very bad optimized game...

The game even close by itself..

Any one of You know if there are log files?
Premature optimisation is always a mistake.
This is a pre-alpha demo for a game that's just past the conceptual phase.

Will I be able to use more common controls?
I was super interested in this game, but I just couldn't get to grips with how it handles.

Quoting: Mountain ManThe interesting thing with commercial software that is often at odds with open source projects is that it doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work.
Yeah, especially with games, where the focus is on mechanics and assets, and maintainability and optimisation are far lower on the list of priorities :I

The official version's had some issues with library mis-matches, so I hope any forks are more flexible.

An update on the GOL Podcast, we need help

I currently host a nonsensical podcast called Walking to Daggerfall. See http://www.youtube.com/TheGzeus [External Link] for examples. See if the general quality of my voice recording is satisfactory.

I also have experience with audio editing (WtD is unedited as we broadcast live on Twitch). I've edited professional audiobooks(2 on Audible, Mouse and the Dragon Crystal isn't a great book, but I'm pretty proud of the editing) as well as amateur music albums (and professional live music, but that's a different skillset).

I'm fairly strong in my opinions, but I think I can seperate my opinion from the facts reasonably well. (My co-host for WtD and I disagree on various things quite often)

Good luck!

Nightdive Studios are making a System Shock Linux demo after gathering feedback

Just an FYI, the Enhanced Edition runs fine in Wine, and of course the DOS version runs fine in DOSBox.

If you think the updated graphics (and more modern engine/controls in general) make a remake worth it, you can get all the level design and many of the same mechanics from those versions.
Looks almost identical in layout.

System Shock remake heads to Kickstarter, Linux is the first stretch-goal

Quoting: ziabiceIt's only me, or having Chris Avellone doing something in every single new game that is been developed these days is becoming annoying? Honestly I don't like his writing, "Fallout: New Vegas" was boring, "Wasteland 2" boring too, same "Icewind Dale" back in the days or "KOTOR II". Surely he knows how to add a layer of complexity to a game's world, but this usually contributes to make the game boring and the kind of game that throws choices at your face too much explicitly.
