C4 Engine Drops Linux Support, Developer Says Linux Is Inferior
12 Jan 2015 at 9:31 pm UTC

Which percentage of Games/Applications runs with C4 engine? Probably 1% if you round favourable.
I personally view the C4 engine inferior to Source, Cry, or Unreal Engine

Guess The Next Linux Port From Feral Interactive, And Win A Copy
1 Jan 2015 at 7:29 pm UTC

I recogniced some days ago that there was no linux port announced, now we know why.

Tomb Raider 2013 was the last Win game I bought and it is really great and I would love to see it ported, but it was on steam sale at 4€ and I doubt that it would be financially that usefull.

So I suggest that it will be another Total War port , probably Total War: Shogun 2.
Due to the fact that I would like to see a Tomb Raider port and there was no hint (female heroine or bow seem to be too easy hints for the radar) i finally decide for Tomb Raider (2013)

Played it some years ago when it was called Nexuiz! Great fun, especially the hook levels in ctf when you make three hooks and capture the flag in ca. 5 secs.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Might Be A Little Present To Unwrap Soon For Linux Gamers

Linux/Mac versions would be really great. I missed so many Steam sales.
Quoting: wolfyrionI think this is an in house port so is totally different from Aspyr and Feral , if you buy the game you just support the studio.
I can't imagine that this is a backdraw, or?

Civilization: Beyond Earth Released For Linux, On Sale & You Can Win Some Keys
18 Dec 2014 at 10:47 pm UTC

I really love Gamingonlinux. Follow since some months and the articles and comments from the editors and community have always been up-to-date, informative and helpful.

Aspyr has become my favourite porting company, mainly because of BL2. Their community work is awesome and Aspyr-Blair especially does a great job in the steam forum and here.

I would not appreciate the free key, without being ungratefull. Once I tried a free weekend and found out that CiV is just too complicated, and I don't have the time to watch hour long youtube tutorials (same so with Empire:Total War, hope feral games can be mentioned). Somehow miss the good old days with linear "realtime" games Age of Empires III and Stronghold.

Airline Tycoon Lands On Linux, Somehow We Didn’t Notice

Quoting: BlobAnother thing that perhaps went unnoticed:

Steam now shows "Windows" instead of "PC" in the search form :P
Thats great and now it may stop a lot of peoples confusion, as not anyone is a linux or general PC geek. Did they also renamed Mac to Mac Os X. I looked at my Steam prepaid card and it said: "PC|MAC|LINUX" (old one, new ones will + SteamOS? )will there also be an update?

thx @Blob,maybe it is worth an article?

BioShock Infinite Looks Set For A Linux Release (CONFIRMED)

Depot was updated 30mins ago again :D. Bought a boxed version last year and its a great game but Rapture was great and BS2 the best episode till now to me. Really interested in the performance cause it has demanding graphics and it didnt't run well on Windows7 with "old" drivers. Updating to the latest drivers made it smoothly running.

Quoting: FredOIt doesn't make sense for a company other than Aspyr to do the Linux port, if they already did the MAC port in the past.
Exactly my thoughts, but maybe they weren't happy with the porting result or doing a little competition. Nevertheless a Linux port of such an AAA-title is great advance in gaming on linux.
