Cool, we need more RTS games on Linux.

Nvidia release another new Vulkan beta driver with Linux support
4 Mar 2016 at 8:25 pm UTC

I hoped for a wider GPU support, but again I was disappointed. Probably have to wait for the RC or the next branch, I expect they will soon provide support for all cards capable of OpenGL 4.5.

Want to see the very popular Stardew Valley on Linux? There's a chance

Quoting: WorMzyIt's been more stable for me in wine, than it has for the girlfriend on Windows. ^_^
Strange answer for GOL, and I don't mean the stabler than Windows part.

The game looks like Gameboy Color on ecstasy, but the user base size is really impressive.

Nvidia Vulkan Driver updated

Quoting: KeyrockStill no vulkan driver in an Ubuntu 15.10 PPA *sniff sniff* :(

Oh well, by the time there is any compelling reason to run a Vulkan driver, 16.04 might already be fully released and I'll be runningsudo do-release-upgrade. :P
Indeed strange to see the actual version being treated worse than the LTS version which is almost 2 years old and should be most stable and secure but not experimental.

Looks like Dota 2 with Vulkan isn't too far away

Firstly the vendors should provide non-beta drivers with wider hardware support.

Looks like Evolve might still come to Linux & SteamOS

Quoting: scaineYeah, Evolve might be beyond saving, sadly.

Looks like it was popular at one point though. Still £25 to buy too!
I'm not finding this kind of statistics, how do you get there?

Quoting: LinasI am stuck with 352 right now, because I could not get 355 to work with primus. Although the nice thing about hybrid graphics is that I don't end up with a broken system when that happens. :)
I keep backups of the last working driver and have SSH enabled. This way, if a driver doesn't work, or is broken for any reason on my system, a phone or tablet can be used to reinstall the last working driver and/or generate a new xorg.conf.
Did it ever occur to you that fixing a bad display driver shouldn't be this hard? (I bet there's a kernel commandline option you could input to grub to switch back to nouveau while you fix it; but damn the kernel really should be able to detect when something is wrong with your graphics drivers and be able to fallback to something... but if not the kernel, save us! systemd! save us!)
I use Timeshift [External Link], saved my ass some dozen times. Very fast and easy full system backup, I used lately to test if 355.00.26 works with 650M, and no it didn't.

This XCOM 2 video shows Linux and Windows very close in performance

Quoting: EikeIt's running so bad on Windows that the performance nearly equals that on Linux? *duckandcover*
Instead of paying the Linux devs to make good ports, we should pay the Windows devs to make games worse and the hardware vendors would also love it!

Nvidia release Linux beta driver with Vulkan
16 Feb 2016 at 10:01 pm UTC

Quoting: scujasSo 800 Series cards not supported?
Unlikely as 700s and 600s are, I would try it.

600M don't seem to be supported, but it didn't complain at installation. Got a black screen :(
