So apparently the motherboard pcb has the markings for an M.2 SSD slot, except that the components are not actually present on the motherboard (Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YfJWYELA3k [External Link] ) which is a shame as this could have made for a decent small form factor pc.

Maybe if they offer a version with one I'll consider buying one.

Intel announced their Arc B-Series GPUs and XeSS 2, the day after CEO Pat Gelsinger retires

Been a while since I followed intel gpu's, are the Arc series still a mess on Linux?

It always seemed to me that the actual hardware is not half bad but the drivers are a different story.

Still loving my RX 6800, it continues to serve me well. Next upgrade will most likely be the new AMD card.

I enjoy replaying through the first game with this from time to time. Hopefully won't be long before the second game can be compiled as a Linux native binary.

2K Launcher is finally no more - that's at least one publisher making things better for gamers

Quoting: emphySo, bioshock games have no launcher at all when getting them from gog? (did the gog versions ever have one?)

That sale looks tempting now...
GOG releases never had one to begin with. The games themselves are very good and play fine in Wine, with such discounts you can't go wrong :)

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl review - works on Linux Desktop with Proton but poorly on Steam Deck

I know it's a long shot but doesn't anyone happen to have an Nvidia 10 series GPU and can check if it runs on it?
Got an old PC with a GTX 1080 and it's failing to run.

Actually scratch that, I tested swapped the 1080 for a 4070 on same system but issue persists.

Next question: Can anyone try the game with a vanilla wine staging build? (non proton). I'm using 9.21 staging.

Ok, This has been a long day. I created a new Wine prefix just for the game and it's working fine now. :)

Can confirm it works fine on Wine Staging 9.21 build.

Great to hear it actually runs well on Linux, I've just finished downloading it but it's too late to try it for today (midnight at time of writing).

Sony say their PSN account requirement on PC is so you can enjoy their games 'safely'

Would love to buy their games but I'm never gonna put up with an account requirement for single player games.

Their loss not mine. Plenty of other games to play.

The video starts with the best opening line - "Annual Top Flagship Windows Handheld"

A handheld unfriendly and resource hog OS. Then they had to cram the obligatory AI which is silly for a handheld designed mostly for gaming.

The video is also mentions "dual processor" which is very misleading, non tech people might even interpret it as if the handheld has both. Do they even what dual processor means?

The only thing I see as revolutionary here is the amount of bull-dung.
