DiRT Showdown Released For Linux Thanks To Virtual Programming, Some Thoughts

Quoting: sobkasSo will it work on r600g?
The minimum requirements lists OpenGL 4.1 for this game to even run and seeing as the R600G is still stuck on OpenGL 3.3 .I find that it would be very unlikely that you would be able to play this game unless you buy an RadeonSI based card and compile Mesa from git.

It does not, I am cannot get it to launch with the open source drivers. :(
Wait a minute,I suddenly remembered that the last time I used Manjaro it did not detect my AMD card properly.First thing you should do is check if you are using the AMD driver by installing mesa-demos "sudo pacman -S mesa-demos" and put "glxinfo | grep OpenGL" without the quotation marks in your Terminal and report back the output.

Well then,Sorry for wasting your time. But keep using the open source drivers as they are better for your card than Catalyst and they also give you the benifit of using gallium nine with playonlinux.

Quoting: GenericUserRemember Antegros uses the pacman packaging system so if you want steam just type "sudo pacman -S steam" in the terminal. And remember to update me if the open source driver also doesn't work out for you.
If I good remember, Dying Light not working on open source driver YET but only on closesource.
Sorry for the delay but can you say where you got that information?.

Quoting: GenericUserInteresting,I might be able to fix your problem with game not loading if you can you tell me what driver do you use the catalyst one or the open source one
I use the proprietary catalyst drivers, 14.12
The game loads, just is acting worse after that patch, which is dissapoiting
Weird.I'd suggest you to install Antegros to check if the open source drivers are working for this game as the ones included in Mint are based on Ubuntu 14.10 which are quite outdated.

Quoting: coryrj19951I still can't really play it... :'( But I did happen to get the "It's all in the writing" achievement just by starting the game...
I just get a rainbow effect over everything, now even before the main menu. I can walk around for 10 seconds fairly smoothly and it just crashes without even freezing or any other warning.

AMD Radeon HD R9 270X
