Quoting: furaxhornyxSales show up as Linux as it's running Linux.Quoting: ExpandingMan[...]Good point, I think it may also depend wether the developers will see sales as "Generic Linux" vs "SteamDeck" ?
This does raise an interesting point though: developers probably won't care about games on linux that are too much for the steam deck to handle. It'll be interesting to see whether valve acts like they care about them.

Quoting: GroganIs that true? Can anyone confirm? I was about to go and purchase this right now when I saw that. That would be absolutely unacceptable to me if that were the case. I don't want to waste my time and bandwidth downloading it only to delete it for refund. It doesn't install EGS, it installs Epic Online Services. Quite a few games use it. It's not a big deal I don't get the fuss over it really, most of it is largely the usual "epic bad" stuff.

Quoting: GuestI honestly think you're missing the point. Performance is an issue, yes. DOOM has Vulkan and OpenGL and while Vulkan performs better, for a lot of people it has numerous crash bugs that OpenGL in DOOM does not. So by using Zink, they could potentially see better performance than plain OpenGL in DOOM without the crashing of the Vulkan implementation in DOOM directly.Quoting: Liam DaweHe specifically mentioned performance... anyway, if he has a problem with Vulkan crashing, he should just use the OpenGL renderer!Quoting: GuestNot entirely true. DOOM does have a few crash bugs with their own Vulkan implementation and for some OpenGL has been more stable so this can also help there too.Quoting: PinballWizardThis is a big deal for me; the multiplayer for that is literally my favorite game at the moment and it's sub-par Linux performance has left me booting into Windows to play! Thanks for sharing this, looking into how to leverage it.I think you are misreading this: DOOM 2016 already has Vulkan support, and the Vulkan renderer has always performed better than OpenGL. I doubt running OpenGL-atop-of-Vulkan would be better than running Vulkan directly.
This is only useful on OpenGL-only games and devices that *only* support Vulkan.
I know you love your translation layers Liam, but there is no need to add yet another one in this case.

Quoting: hardpenguinI was about to say that this kind of project does not seem that much useful because you can use dgVoodoo 2 with Wine and Proton... But this list is impressive!Well, I think something like this would be more useful in the end since there would be one less step in the translation and if it eventually got merged into DXVK then you wouldn't need to do anything.

Quoting: PhiladelphusEdit: adding "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=TRUE %command%" to the launch options got it running with Proton Experimental. Now to test it out!Had no problem here with Proton 7, ran out of the box.
