Quoting: anewsonisn't this a little expensive? I tried to fit up an XPS 13 with the same specs and got to about the same price, except that the XPS13 has a 4k screen, smaller bezels, and is much, much thinner (and a copy of everyone's favourite operating system, Windows 10 )Same story as always: smaller vendor can't ship tens of thousands and have tiny margins.

I've added the battery info, it is all there on their specs sheet when you go to order.

Quoting: GuestI think this is overengineering through tools of questionable utility.…what? Kind of a weird statement to make blindly with no reasoning.

Quoting: dosThe comment was more referring to them having the ability to mess with the hardware like this. How can someone create this? Pretty simple if you know a bit of programming and where to look, since the Steam Deck uses Linux (SteamOS) and so the majority of it is open source (apart from the Steam client). This part is actually in that closed Steam client though - but it's somewhat hackable anyway because it's using HTML and JavaScript :P

Quoting: LNXDoes this really need to be said? Native Gaming was practically going nowhere and it's only a very tiny niche of Linux Gamers that actually care what's under the hood. The vast majority just want to be able to game and that's the most important thing, getting the games to work here and now. Thanks though to Protonfor killing native linux games development

No ETA, as our testing showed the Proton compatibility layer is working splendidly, so Linux lives among the "Platforms we could port to" herd for now - But is perfectly playable via Steam/Proton.No plans for a Native build currently.
I now this is not likely the reply you'd want to see, but this opened up more opportunities and dev time to improve the game before release.

I get it, people really like Godot, but it's not all that exists and competition is good for open source spaces too.

Quoting: BinogureI like the known bugs from their release note, almost Linux only:There's only two they list that are Linux-specific, lets not blow things out of proportion. Bugs happen, that's software. Kinda weird to focus so hard on that. The first noted issue is Windows-specific too and there's only three noted overall. Wow, big deal.
Quoting: BinogureI'd rather see more post regarding real open source game engines such as Godot Engine than this kind of open source washing engine.Sorry...but, what? Open source washing. I can't even 🤦♂️🤦♂️

Quoting: M@GOidIs your PC okay? We are in a very unfortunate time to buy new parts.Oh yeah all good, just a software issue that I seemed to have solved by...unplugging my second monitor and plugging it back in. Yes really. Games would take forever to load or lock up my PC, my second monitor would react slow if a game was on and OBS would turn all browser window docks solid white. Couldn't figure out what was going on but hotplugging my monitor 100% fixed it. So Plasma X11 + NVIDIA being weird with multi-monitors.
