Quoting: slapinThat won't affect SDL1 games.
Wasn't there talk of a SDL1 -> SDL2 wrapper library? So older SDL games could also benefit from the newer library?
Such a wrapper does exist:

Quoting: propertyI'd like to know the Steam Deck rating for each of these. We're likely to see an immense increase in Linux gamers in a few weeks. :)

We're currently at about 0.3M monthly active gamers there and are hopefully bound to be in the millions within the next two years.
The rating as the article mentions is Verified for the list. There's only Verified, Playable and Unsupported.

The developer spoke to me again today and they confirmed clearly now the original developers did give their approval on it.

Quoting: AussieEeveeSo if you're using xorg.... you don't get this? I honestly am not sure I understand what this article is saying.
It will continue to work fine with X11 it's not dropping support, but developers using it will see Wayland as the default now.

Quoting: shadowboy813All of this talk about the new UI and no one mentions the more significant update: The FoV slider goes well past 90 now.
That came with the previous Beta update https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2021/10/half-life-2-and-the-episodes-get-a-beta-with-vulkan-dxvk-and-more/

We're living in a weird world with Sony's Shuhei Yoshida excited about a Linux handheld

Quoting: Doc AngeloFor me, this is not strange at all. For you, it is.
You really don't think it's strange to boot up previously exclusive PlayStation and Xbox games on Linux? Okay then. I have nothing more to say, because not long ago at all that was a complete fantasy.

Quoting: scaineHuh, I'm getting "Confirm your age to watch this video". Almost as if Google don't know that I'm a 50 year old man who's been using their products, including Google Pay, for decades. Despite being signed in to multiple Google products when I visit Youtube, where I'm also signed in. Jesus christ.
Yeah, frustrating, it was normal when the article was published. YouTube just completely disallow people to watch an Embed Player if they decide it's age restricted and force you to go to YouTube directly. It's a completely dumb system. It's the same even on Steam now for their official announcement.

The legendary classic Supaplex series comes to Linux on Steam

Quoting: pbWhat worries me is that they were not willing to disclose if they have the permission from the original developers and if they share the profits in any way. One thing that is pretty sure, though, is that they don't have permission(s) to sell any additional levels (like "supaplex hard", "supaplex square" etc.) as they are just packs of levels contributed by various people years ago: https://www.elmerproductions.com/sp/levels.html [External Link]

To be honest, it's probably best to just load up the Supaplex levels in Rocks'n'Diamonds.

I asked about it, they mentioned they "can provide all necessary documents" if it came to it.

Quoting: Doc AngeloI'm not sure why this is a sign of a "weird world". This is just capitalism working as expected. The exclusitivity didn't work out as they wanted it to, so they change their plans to make more money. Not weird at all.
It's more like you missed the point entirely to focus on capitalism. It's just a figure of speech, to point out how strange this all is for Linux gamers. Also, their exclusivity absolutely did work out, God of War for example sold tens of millions of copies on PlayStation, so that's entirely besides the point.
