Quoting: BeamboomI still can't get over the fact that they never made a follow-up to the VR version of Superhot. I saw that game being played everywhere when VR was demonstrated, surely they must have sold a solid number?!Looks like it sold quite well but it was dripped in controversy when they removed a few self-harm scenes. I imagine the backlash soured their enthusiasm for more.
We're living in a weird world with Sony's Shuhei Yoshida excited about a Linux handheld

The article is just highlighting how *good* it is that all this is happening.

Quoting: CSharpIt's rather sad that we're surprised about this. That we assume companies want to wall their own gardens. I applaud them for embracing cool.things and playing well with others.Sad? Sony and Microsoft both previously worked very hard to put up walls around their fancy gardens. In many ways Sony still does, you only have to look at all the cross-platform issues with Sony locking accounts to their system, there's many more examples around.

Quoting: damarrinI don't think Mr Yoshida knows what Linux is, much less that the SD is running it.So? That's a good thing, people don't actually need to know. That will go to show exactly how well it works as a gaming device. It actually makes it easier to have "the Linux talk" if they already like it ;)

Quoting: pleasereadthemanualYup that's it, they confirmed via email it's now for promotions only which kinda makes sense.Quoting: Liam DaweAh, i know that one.Quoting: pleasereadthemanualAs for a "free copy", what does this mean? There is no free version of CrossOver Linux. There's a 14-day free trial. There's a yearly subscription. There's a lifetime subscription. And there's the CrossOver One one-time purchase (which doesn't exist right now). So based on what version it is, that will determine the value of it. Given that they don't say "1 free year", I suppose it's meant to be lifetime or a particular version (CrossOver 21) forever. They say it's Crossover Linux One, which is not listed officially by CodeWeavers. We've asked for clarification. Will update if / when we get a reply.
CrossOver One is not officially listed by Codeweavers as of ~August last year. It was a version of CrossOver that received no support and only contained that year's version of CrossOver. There were no software upgrades. It was $39.95USD.
You can see the store page as it originally appeared a year ago with the CrossOver One option here: https://web.archive.org/web/20210102011151/https://www.codeweavers.com/store/ [External Link]

Quoting: ShabbyXFYI, dEQP is the original name of the OpenGL CTS, before Google bought the company and donated it to Khronos. The correct name now is VK-GL-CTS.Heh, interesting, even the official GitHub ReadMe still calls it dEQP though https://github.com/KhronosGroup/VK-GL-CTS [External Link]
Also, lol, I didn't remember what it stood for.
HITMAN 3 arrives on Steam and works flawlessly on Linux with Proton

Quoting: F.UltraWhich could be either Feral not selling enough of HITMAN to make it interesting to also port 2 or that IO refused to sell the Linux rights to Feral (or they demanded a too high price for the license).Probably a mix of things. I saw a developer at IO tweet directly about HITMAN 2 running in Proton so they probably didn't see a need to partner with Feral on it.

I'll say again: there's better places to dump your politic thoughts on stuff like socialism, this isn't it.
Same goes for correction reports: use the built-in feature, no need to fill comments with it.

Quoting: pbSo what's so special about this box that it costs $60-70 more than the one with preinstalled Windows? I appreciate that they're trying, but I fail to see the point. The difference is that I assume Manjaro get a cut, which is probably part of the inflated pricing.

Quoting: slaapliedjeWould have been nice if they'd continued making native ports. But I feel native ports are going to be few and far apart, now that proton makes things 'just work'.Well, they never did, that was Feral and they only did the first one too.
