Added now. Press email didn't mention it so forgot to check myself.

Crayta now free to play on Stadia and gets Crowd Play, Little Nightmares II free on Pro

Hardware is absolutely not here. Steam Machines were the only thing that came close, and they spectacularly failed. VCS does not count, as it's using a special brand and not normal Linux like SteamOS was.

And again, I don't subscribe to the thought that everything needs to "do us a favour" or contribute to Linux in some way. We are the only platform where this comes up. It's an option.

Quoting: slaapliedjeYeah, I'm convinced Stadia had done absolutely nothing for Linux gaming as a whole. And only teases us with 'but they're Linux ports!' but they're not running on $my_favorite_distribution_locally. So really still have no interest in it. And with Google slaying it's own developers for it and spreading their ashes upon their users... well, most of us saw that coming.
It never was supposed to do anything. It's just another tool in the shed, to play games on Linux.

The only thing that will push Linux itself higher is hardware, I've said it for years and I will continue to say it. Stadia being supported on Linux is better than not.

Quoting: NanobangI might be interested in this down the line, but what kind of money are we talking about here? I've done a cursory once-over their site and found not even a mention of them wanting money.
LinuxGSM is just a tool you use to automate self-hosting wherever you want.
What threw me was your use of the word 'cheaply' where you wrote, '...interested in hosting your own cheaply ...', since cheaply means that it costs money, just not very much money. What were you referring to?
To host your own somewhere, at a low cost, using the LinuxGSM tooling.

Steam Play Proton has a new build up needing testing with a 5.13-6 RC

Quoting: BeamboomOk this is getting a bit confusing for me. So this is a beta for a stable version. We also got "experimental" - is that one even more ahead/bleeding edge? Or a completely different branch?

In other words - if I run experimental, do I then already have the stuff found in this beta? Reason I ask is also because I feel pretty sure that I saw the "Fix Cyberpunk 2077 world sound issues" fix mentioned in the last experimental version (that was out quite a while ago)?
Experimental is its own thing, treat all versions differently.

Quoting: riusmaAfter opting for "next" in "Betas" tab should I've 5.13-6 in my specific proton versions list? I've only 5.13-5 and "Proton Experimental" (both of them were already available for me as usable specific proton versions, I was already using 5.13-5 for some games)... I'm a bit confused...
It does not change versioning, as it's a Beta on the current version.

Catch up on Collabora's work in the Linux Kernel for futex2 to help Wine & Proton

Note - Wine and Proton are compatibility layers, designed to run Windows games and other software on Linux and other operating systems. Proton is Valve's version of Wine that's available through Steam. See our dedicated page for more.
I just noticed you put a similar refresher in almost every article (and similar for Nvidia stuff). That's awesome forward thinking and very helpful especially for newbies :)

futex2 is exciting. Blows my mind how much Valve has helped kick Linux gaming in to high gear.
Thanks for the kind words. I try not to assume too much from readers, because there's tons of special terms everywhere that are easy to forget or just be confused on. People who know can ignore it but it I think it's helpful overall :)

Total War: WARHAMMER III announced and confirmed for Linux by Feral Interactive

Quoting: Liam DaweUpdate: Feral Press replied to our question about cross-platform online support, as traditionally their ports are locked for Linux/macOS and Windows by itself. Here's what they said:

We do not have anything to announce in regards to the support of the cross-platform multiplayer.

Should the situation change, we will make an announcement on our official site and social media channels.
I would be very surprised if Creative changed anything to allow it. It's almost certainly a choice of their middleware or some compiler option, and they wouldn't be in any hurry to make engine changes if they can avoid it. Shitty situation, but not surprising.

Zilch that Feral can do on the matter unfortunately.
Well, I don't want to read into it too far or anything but if there was none I would have thought they would just say "no" like usual hmm...one can hope huh?
