Quoting: CybolicIs it just me or is the scale for the "x11 Desktop" graph off? It seems to show the number by a tenth (ie. 5 instead of 50).I'm not seeing anything wrong, can you screenshot and circle what you mean?
Quoting: PhlebiacWe don't use analytics other than cloudflare. It is a good point though, that is one thing that some analytics solution would definitely do better.Quoting: Liam DaweSince browsers can run a lot of games nowadays, how do people feel about a primary browser question?Seems like you would get better data from Google Analytics or crunching your httpd logs?

Quoting: PublicNuisanceWell, that's quite a different issue and it gets quite complicated. Personally, I hope developers don't do that.Quoting: Liam DaweIf the use of Denuvo was restricted to online games you may have a point but there are plenty of single player games that use it as well.Quoting: PublicNuisanceSo this is where we are in Linux gaming ? Getting in bed with intrusive DRM is met with cheers ? Guess I can't be shocked we're no better than the rest of the PC gaming platform on that regard. I was already more willing to support Itch.io or GOG for their DRM practices and I see this news as strengthening that and pushing me farther away from Steam. It's bad enough they allow games on their store to use Denuvo but to bake it into Steamworks is a worse step not a better one. They have the market and the clout to fight against this nonsense but it just shows they value money above all else which is something that those who say they love Linux should start opening their eyes to.More like: this is just the world we live in. If you want to play competitive games online, they need anti-cheat because humans are terrible and cheat sometimes with big bot networks to ruin things for everyone. The problem is not the anti-cheat, it's humans being shits.

Quoting: mcphailI'm currently about 12 hours into Arcanum (via WINE) and 3 hours into Pathfinder: Kingmaker. So far, I can recommend both. Plenty of fun to be had in this sale!Arcanum was another from when I was younger. Really needs an open source reimplementation to improve it, sadly it's so often overlooked.

"Burn this, install the game, test away"
Certainly would make things easier.

Quoting: no_information_here"I don't have a Linux system"Quoting: robredzIf you read the announcement, it has auto-updating of the OS on the USB. It has been a while since I have used a live-distro, but I don't remember any kind of serious update feature. This would be very important for devs.Quoting: no_information_hereTGhere are plenty of USB distro's out there, Puppy is one, but one set up for gaming and game devs to use would be goodNot just for gamers though, this could be a pretty valuable tool for developers to test their games too.I think this is the real reason. I have seen a number of small devs post comments like "I don't have a linux machine" in answer to questions about porting games (or fixing the games they already ported). If it is super easy to plug in a USB drive and have an instant test environment, it would make many of those excuses go away.
I still don't know why everyone is mocking the USB idea as if it is aimed at gamers. I think that is going to be a side audience to the real target: indie developers who are scared to install a linux partition.
