Linux Gaming News Punch - Episode 8

Quoting: EhvisThere are a few games on Linux that resemble Diablo. Torchlight is the obvious one. Others (like Victor Vran) may have a few notable differences, but I hope Last Epoch will do its own thing as well.
Yeah but really not much else, which was more my poorly worded point :)

Yup, that's part of the point of it :)

Be prepared to build from nothing as 'Kingdom Two Crowns' now has a Linux beta

Quoting: yochaigalWhen I have Steam Play enabled, it lets me install regardless of beta.
When I have Steam Play disabled, it gives me the invalid platform response.
They mentioned on Twitter after I poked them again, that it should be fixed if you didn't see already.

Quoting: theghostThe game looks really interesting.

@Liam: Some negative rewievs mention a repetitive and not so deep gameplay. What's your opinion about this?
Depends. I find tons of games to be repetitive but the key factor is fun, do you find it fun? I find Pathway fun.

Quoting: KonGreat game, but be warned that the native Linux version has never received the patches pushed to the Windows version.
This is already clearly noted in the article FYI.

Surviving Mars: Green Planet to introduce terraforming, releasing in Q2 this year
9 Apr 2019 at 7:34 pm UTC

Quoting: TheRiddickThe whole idea of terraforming mars is a bit of a pipe dream. The amount of energy and resources needed makes it impractical and impossible for humans to achieve, but whatever..
It's a game.

Dear Liam, can you ask/confirm to Tate Multimedia... Is it them still the same developers/companies who developed the "Kao the Kangaroo" series on Game Boy Advance/PS2 in 2000's era?

If true... Tell them:
Please start "re-sell" Kao the Kangaroo back! Imma big fan!
I will buy it. Hell, I will buy all their games, as long not on EGS..
Yes they are the same: https://www.tatemultimedia.com/en/all_games/ [External Link]

Surviving Mars: Green Planet to introduce terraforming, releasing in Q2 this year

Quoting: DuncSounds awesome. I never really got all that far in SM when I first played it, and going back to it recently I realised there's a lot of stuff in there which I didn't expect that keeps your interest going once you've got a nice colony ticking along and it might otherwise start to wane (no spoilers for anyone who doesn't have it, but long-time players will probably know what I'm talking about). Absolutely brilliant game.
Yup! It certainly does have a slow start, but it's wonderful when you start getting through some research and build up a big colony.

There's an official announcement of the release, with downloads available that I tested and 4.0.0 was tagged on GitHub here [External Link].

Be prepared to build from nothing as 'Kingdom Two Crowns' now has a Linux beta

Quoting: ironheadI absolutely adore "Kingdom classic", from graphics to sound and gameplay, everything felt quite perfect.

After opting in to the beta public-test steam still says that this is played via Proton.
Is there anything else I need to do to get to the Linux beta?
Quoting: yochaigalYeah, I have the same issue: no beta access code; when I go to install it says "An error occurred while updating Kingdom Two Crowns (invalid platform)".
Is it working for you now? The developer said on Twitter they've had others have success. I'm a little confused if they have, since the Linux content according to SteamDB still doesn't include Steam store purchases...
