Transhuman Design has removed the Linux version of BUTCHER due to issues in favour of Steam Play (updated)

Part of the problem though is what I mentioned, Steam Play titles don't currently show as a Linux game on the store + the problems then other stores have. We don't want to end up having Steam lock-in. As much as I value what Valve does, the last thing I want is them getting everything and other stores getting nothing.
Edit: I said it should matter, I meant it shouldn't.

Quoting: jensWhy is it so important how the game is packaged and compiled? It should perform, should be stable and the developer/publisher should know that the money came from Linux. I'm fine if these three conditions are given. That's how I feel about a lot of this stuff, to the end user (the actual gamer) it shouldn't matter, everything behind the scenes should be invisible to you.

Quoting: scaineI think we can schedule it in ;)Quoting: fabertaweHah! Just received an alert from Steam telling me it's 40% off and I thought it really is time I picked this up. Good timing ^_^Yep, I'll be buying this today. Looks awesome. Could be another LiveStream, Liam? The last one you can was excellent, except that you 'finished' it, which was a damp squib given that it didn't have an ending!

Quoting: 0aTTI am aware of that, having a presence doesn't literally mean they will be posting all over forums. What do you think to Valve increasing their presence in the forums for each game? They only delete posts that violate rules. So you won't see a Valve moderator in the forums. It is simply a service for publishers and developers. They pay at least 30% of their revenues to Valve.
Free to play third-person shooter 'The Misfits' has a Linux version that's currently hidden on Steam, works well

Quoting: buenaventuraLooks cool, I like the comic book graphic style! So are the classes very different, or are there some other complicating factors in it? i mean just a 3rd person shooter without anything special seems boring. What is the main cool thing would you say?The classes have different starting weapons (you can pick up other weapons across the map) as well as different health, speed and so on.

Quoting: NarcotixIt's great to see them pushing into this. Now give us proper Optimus-support and i'm eager to buy a laptop with an NVIDIA-GPU.It's being worked on: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/nvidia-are-working-towards-better-support-for-nvidia-optimus-on-linux.12362
Quoting: tuubiYup, stick to that PPA if you want the beta Vulkan drivers.Quoting: GuestThere's also the "Proprietary Development GPU Drivers" PPA [External Link] by the same team that currently still has 396.54.05, but should update to .06 soon.Quoting: massatt212how do i install NVIDIA 396.54.06 on Ubuntu or should i go with NVIDIA 410.57 (Im not sure is 410.57 have the beta updates of 396.54.06)Since you're probably using the graphics-drivers PPA, just wait until the new driver is put into there. It should then be available as a separate option in the Driver Manager, or of course you can install it via the command line.
