Quoting: RoosterThis would have been an insta buy for me, but now I'm hesitating because of two details which I noticed in the steam page of the game:

1.
"Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper "
- well as far as I know, Denuvo is Windows only, so is it safe to assume the Linux version is Denuvo free?

2. Under Recommended Requirements for Linux I noticed this:
"Additional Notes: DirectX Version 11"
- I hope this is just an error and it doesn't mean that the Linux version doesn't just use a Wine-like layer to run the game.
It's a native Linux game, built in Unity. I doubt it has Denuvo on Linux, don't think Denuvo even works on Linux.

SCUM, a very exciting sounding open-world survival game should come to Linux

For now only windows servers on offical provider but Linux will play with other PC players when is done.
Not sure if the word "done" is referring to Linux client, or EA period.
That's quoted in the article too FYI. Their wording means when the Linux version is done.

Edit: Also, apparently it does work in Steam Play, someone did a video [External Link].
Not surprised it works in Steam Play . . . it's Croteam, right, so it's probably Vulkan.
They only "produce" it, whatever they mean by that. Development, as noted is by Gamepires.

Like Xpander said above though, performance is poor. Best to wait until a native port for now or until Proton can handle it better.

Quoting: hummer010Thanks for another recommendation of a game I can play with my kid! This one, I don't have, so it's always great to find something new.
Glad to know it helps. I'm currently going over lots of them with my son, to see if any are worth it.

Quoting: x_wingThis was fast. Nevertheless, they should start working on page similar to winedb. Right know I feel like the game test result/workarounds are quite dispersed on the web/forums. There is a lot of people testing lots of things but much of the knowledge gets lost in the immensity of the web :(
There's a google doc that someone sent me, very extensive list too

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DcZZQ4HL_Ol969UbXJmFG8TzOHNnHoj8Q1f8DIFe8-8/edit#gid=1003113831 [External Link]
FYI that document was linked in my thoughts article :)
Quoting: the articleThere's also a massive document on Google Docs [External Link], with people submitting their findings on how games run. Seems like it's off to a rather good start!

Quoting: x_wingHey Liam, what do you mean with: "... to actually save the game you need to build the Archive and it needs to have someone assigned to it". Is like a in-game building??

Don't like the idea of early access, but I may give it a shot.
Have re-worded to be clearer. In-game building.

Quoting: KetilIs it bad for their wishlist stats if I keep it in wishlist until it is a bit more mature?
Don't quite understand what you mean? Wishlist it for as long as you like.
I was thinking that wishlisting forever without buying could potentially be bad for Linux as it might cause expectation that isn't fulfilled later on. There is a big difference between wishlisting for a few months, and a few years, however, and I don't really know where I should draw the line.
I doubt that, there will be many more on Windows doing the exact same thing. I don't think they get details other than the amount of people either (from the shots developers have shown me many times), they have no idea *who* you are to know how long you've had it wishlisted.
