Quoting: EmazzaHas there been a wipe?
Because I woke up and all my items in my "house" were gone (apart my map and some bottles of water). The house is still intact and there isn't any sign of damage.
Was the server hacked with wallhack? Can someone explain?
You sir, seem to have been raided. They probably replaced what they broke to get in, a common tactic. People leave you alive so you don't know who did it.

Do you have the toolcupboard thing so only authorized people can build in your area?

Well yeah, we do host a server for it now ;)

Get ready to escape again, as 'The Escapists 2' launches next month, looks like it will be on Linux

Quoting: rkfgThe game looks really fancy and fun, however this dev's answer [External Link] doesn't fill me with enthusiasm...

Added to wishlist nevertheless.
It is coming :), quote from that same thread:
Turns out my intel was off, and it is indeed coming to both Windows, Mac and SteamOS/Linux! Sorry for the confusion!

And yes, cross-play across those Steam platforms is a thing as well!

Sublevel Zero Redux, a free revamp of the six-degree-of-freedom shooter is now out

Quoting: AimelaUnfortunately, this doesn't seem to work with multiple monitors for me(it closes after about a second of launching). I have to disable my secondary monitor to get it running.
Yeah it's a bit poor, mine switches between them before settling on the correct one and then it sometimes has the wrong resolution causing the mouse to be off.

Yes. It's fixed in 5.6.2p3, a 5.6.2f1 hotfix build [External Link], and 2017.1.

I knew you would have measures in place, but something this big somehow got missed when it's so easily reproducible? I'm sure you do massive amounts of testing, but isn't that largely on Windows with the Linux team being much smaller?
No, the automated testing covers all platforms; we also have dedicated Linux QA staff who specifically verify bugfixes and test new features.
The problem in this instance is that the issue only occurs on a few WMs and only occurs when launching directly to fullscreen, which probably contributed to it slipping past automated testing, manual QA, and public preview build feedback.
I see, I genuinely appreciate you being here and replying. I take it the testing procedures have added-in testing for that fullscreen method in future? :)

Quoting: michaIt runs fine for you?

It crashes for me with some Java manifest missing in the bundled JRE. Submitted a bug report (which itch.io makes super easy thankfully), so let's see. =)
As mentioned, you need that 32bit lib at the top of the article, otherwise it doesn't run without it. Even with it, you need to launch it directly (not through itch client). I had the same problems until I did that, developer has been made aware of it.

Quoting: GuestGOL’s stats say that only 15% of Linux gamers use the Unity DE
I strongly suspect that this is not representative of the general public.
Will have to disagree (without any bias here, since I've not seen any other statistics like ours), considering the amount of people we have who answer our statistics questions, it's likely the single best source. As of the start of this month 1761 answered the desktop question, a margin of error of ~3%?

If you have another source of what desktop people use for their gaming PC that shows different, be sure to let me know. You also need to remember the Unity desktop is being phased-out and will be removed by default in the next version of Ubuntu 17.10. The Linux community is generally pretty clued up on stuff like that happening (especially as it was so public and widely reported on), so a lot of people will have switched away already.

Quoting: liamdawethey need to seriously step-up their testing game
We actually do a massive amount of testing [External Link] - in this case, when we made the SDL switch, in addition to our thousands of automated tests and standard alpha/beta cycles, we had our QA folks doing manual testing, and we additionally sent out public player builds for people to try out on their own configurations, to try to find precisely these issues. Unfortunately, this particular one wasn't reported to us until developers started shipping updates to their Steam games.
I knew you would have measures in place, but something this big somehow got missed when it's so easily reproducible? I'm sure you do massive amounts of testing, but isn't that largely on Windows with the Linux team being much smaller?

Believe me it's not aimed at making Unity look bad, just annoying as hell when issues that seem to be so common find there way into released builds of Unity.

Quoting: razing32Are there mines/bombs in the game ?
CAN you destroy the APC ? Or do you have to outsmart it ?
You can make mines yes, you can also make a rocket launcher. There's quite a number of weapons in the game.

I imagine it will be destroyable. There's already a helicopter that appears now and then for ~15 minutes, which if destroyed will drop nice loot.

GOG have released DOSBox wrapped copies of The Humans series with Linux versions

Quoting: TheBardWhen it's about getting easy money from us, gog is very good (a DOSBox wrapper is not a hard thing at all). But to port a client that is sometimes required for multiplayer (Zombasite) then they ignore us. I'm looking forward when Itch.io is the main DRM-Free store. At least they treast us well.
I don't get the issue? Zombasite is on GOG [External Link] with a Linux version.

Also, it's not up to GOG to get Linux versions on the store, that's up to the original developer. DOSBox games are entirely different.
I thought it was gog providing the dosbox configs. Games like theme hospital and little big adventure 1-2 works nicely in dosbox on linux if I modify the bundled config a little bit, but isn't marked as supporting linux. Dosbox even have builtin ipx-tunneling so you can play dos ipx games over an udp/ip network, but I never tried it.
Like I said DOSBox wrapping is entirely different. GOG can do that with permission, but they arent going to go and hire developers to port Linux games.

"It does also seem to still suffer a few graphical glitches on Linux, "

Any chance you would be willing to specify whether this happens in general or with a particular combination of drivers/hardware?
I'm afraid I have only my own hardware to test. A number of Unity games have similar issues.
