They are working on it, spoke to them privately tonight to offer advice and I might do some more testing with them tomorrow. It may be broken, but they are trying :)

Article updated to reflect more testing done, performance is actually alright, my issue was not actually having everything on Low (see the article).

Quoting: gamax92liamdaweYou can see my PC info on my profile and in the PC Info link on comments, I am on an Nvidia 980ti.
Are you perhaps using an AMD graphics card? For me the very same level that shows up all darkened shows up perfectly fine (well, much better than that) here on NVidia. It's cool to see when not lagging or stuttering it's able to hit 50fps, albeit on low graphics.

Quoting: dodrianAt the moment the only game tempting me to borrow my wife's Windows box is Planet Coaster. But with the recent release of Civ VI, and Feral's promise to patch XCOM2 for the Long War, I should be pretty busy until about 2023. Maybe Wine will have caught up for Planet Coaster by then ;-)Feral have already done the XCOM 2 patch :), was back in early Feb.

Quoting: imdan12Finally I will see you play Overwatch on livestreams. That's a long time away going by how it runs right now and it likely wouldn't be until it's in at least Wine-Staging directly. On top of that, I don't actually own Overwatch I borrowed the girlfriends copy and I will not buy it until it works damn well as I have plenty of real native games to play ;)

A look at how much RAM you might need as a Linux gamer
8 Mar 2017 at 1:01 pm UTC
FYI: The system monitors do not include the cache, it calculates the actual memory used. So the amount of RAM I have shown, is the minimum each game will use for what I tested.
Hope that makes it clearer.

Quoting: GuestJust because you don't agree with the method, it does not make it pointless. I trust that output that both XFCE and GNOME system monitor show for RAM use and unless you have a real argument on why you shouldn't trust them, don't go flinging words like pointless around :)Quoting: liamdaweSince Linux memory management is quite complicated at the best of times, this was a simple test using system monitors to check total listed RAM use. Going through virtual, shared, cache and so on is a bit out of our scope and current knowledge.Quite the opposite!
Not knowing if the tool you used to measure memory usage includes the buffers and the caches makes the whole article pointless.
Anyway, anybody concerned about desktop memory usage, should really avoid KDE:

Quoting: 0aTTUpdating OBS is a pain, because of NVENC we have to recompile and install OBS/ffmpeg manually. With these few changes is seems really not worthwhile. Still using version 15.Well, on Arch it's pretty simple I don't have to do anything other than install the ffmpeg that has nvenc with it. Arch has made a lot of stuff surprisingly simple :)
