I actually now have the "Epic" pack, so I will be getting access on the 24th instead of the 25th. Cost a little extra, but it will be worth it as I time free during the day on both, so should be worth it to help me cover it and give my impressions.

You flag if you want to attack, if you do you show up on the radar for non-pvp people to know round about where you are. It's quite simple really. The charging on it is to prevent someone standing right next to you suddenly going pvp and attacking you.

Sounds like quite a sane system really.

It will open again then yes, I have it in my calendar marked and ready. Then it will be nominations by users up to the 1st of January 2016, then a week or so to check it over and then voting will begin around the second week of January hopefully sooner.

I did, but my experience was soured by the major bug it had a while back with the desktop constantly pausing for a second every now and then, and I had it quite often. Apparently it's fixed now, but I've no current plans to move. Cinnamon is lovely though, their attention to detail is awesome. Clem even implemented a few features I directly requested to him in Nemo such as giving you the option to set something executable when trying to launch it, instead of the old message of telling you it's not executable (yep, that was at my request).

AMD's open source driver will hopefully save it, as Catalyst moves far, far too slowly right now. Although, apparently Catalyst will work with parts of AMDGPU in future, so it will be easier to update to new kernels or something?

Doing a simple "+1" post is actually against Steam's own rules, someone quoted it to me before but it's true.

Nothing wrong with meaningful discussion, but I'm sure that Laptop moderator does it on purpose to give him a reason to lock it, as he does it so often.

Just another hurdle for us in the wider community, stay strong and polite folks.

It will be run in two stages: Nominations by all, then we will curate the list to remove the cruft and any duplicates that slip by. Both stages will be announced, that way people can help point out things in the wrong places we miss.

I've added an Engine Reimplementation category, so stuff like Arx can go in it and whatever else.

I don't want to limit a category down to five or so like you suggested Beamboom as it's 100% opinion what deserves to be in there, and what doesn't. This is what the voting is for, and I don't want to limit a game because I or someone else feels it isn't worthy - I think that's quite a negative way to do it. I know this is how other game awards do it, but this is like a lot of what we do is run with the community, it's not for us to pick.

I stayed in the PVE zones during the test and still had an enjoyable experience.
