We don't like GamersGate debates here, and I won't put up with them.
Shutup about who slept with who (because as DrMcCoy said it's basically horseshit).
If it carries on past this comment right here I will begin deleting them and any that reference them.
Debunk the article, talk about performance and such and don't focus on people directly. After I was harassed by people I simply wont put up with it in my comments, end of.

How about people focus on what's being said, rather than the author of the Ars piece eh.

Aspyr ports also suffer a big performance drop compared with Windows.
Valve games do not run faster on Linux, that's really old information, their benchmarks even showed Valve games.

Quoting: reaVerThis has such a huge meh behind it though. The numbers aren't all that different, Steam OS is NOT Linux, it's an hijacked Ubuntu where the developers still haven't taken their time to actually optimize the platform they run on. And they completely ignore Aspyr's ports. Nor do they consider the actual load of some games and the nasty quirks that windowses have had in the past. I would really take this with a grain of salt.SteamOS is actually based on Debian, not Ubuntu.
Also, don't forget about a post made in the past by valve themselves showing that L4D2 runs faster on Linux than it does on windows. So the fact that they are showing 4 valve games doing worse than the Linux counterpart is iffy to say the least.

DiRT works just as well with the default as it does with community templates. I am on Ubuntu 15.10, only adjustment I did was add the udev rule you need which I covered before.

Quoting: MayeulCIt's a great idea to put tutorial like these on this site, most notably for people who are new to Linux/SteamOSYou're right, I didn't even realise that was the legal download in the original script.
I think it would be great if someone could post here a tutorial explaining how to get emulators running, as well as installing a package manager. I do not have time to do it myself yet, but if it hasn't been done by the time I get some spare time in my hands, I'll write one for sure. I've pointed out Lutris as a possible solution in the past, but I don't really know if it's difficult to get it running on SteamOS.
Edit : the official Minecraft launcher is publicly available from here [External Link], as listed there [External Link]. I don't really see why you didn't include it.
