Our Linux Game Release Calendar Has Been Slightly Revamped

The first fix was the borked one across two days, the new fix has it correctly. I had to remove the calendar and then re-add it for google calendars to pick it up properly.

Quoting: MohandevirThe Witcher 3, best guest on november 1st? Is it just a wishfull thinking or is it based on something more solid? Ok, wishfull thinking might not be the right expression but I'm wondering what is behind this "guess"?

It makes me really glad to think of such a close release even if it's a month or two too early...
That was someone's wishful thinking, I have edited it into 2016.

Quoting: NeonDeityGamesAs for the review itself, I'm glad you had fun with it. The only quibble I had was the implication of the trailer representing the whole of what the game offers. That's factually incorrect and I can't see how you'd think that unless you didn't play the game for more than about 5 minutes. I'd urge you to spend a little more time and go deeper if that's the case.
I did spend quite a while playing the game, and I still stand by my words. I'm not saying it's a terrible thing, since I do think it's amusing, but there's not much to the game the trailer doesn't show you as the game overall is quite simple with such short matches. There aren't many mechanics to the game other than quick matches and the powerup system.

Quoting: Beta VersionAnyone know if GOG counts Linux purchases?
AFAIR that's one of the companies (Humble is another one), that does count them separatly.
But how?

HumbleBundle has a checkbox to select OS on purschase.

GoG.com doesn't.
Could be done in a couple of ways. Your browser reports your platform (user agent) so they could be solely relying on that. It could also be that they base their assumptions regarding your platform of choice based on the platform versions downloaded of the games purchsed (if downloaded soonish), a combination of that and the browser platform or even your platform history/preferences from previous purchases.

I believe liam has tweeted them [External Link] regarding this in the past. sadly they wouldn't reply :/
I should really speak to my GOG contact about that now I have one...

Quoting: ripperIt would be great to fix the .ics file and start showing the events as full-day events. They show up as one-hour events for me 2:00-3:00 AM (that's related to my timezone). This happens both in Google Calendar and Evolution. I provided suggestions how to fix this here:
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/our-linux-game-release-calendar-is-now-live.5379/page=3#37014
As I posted there months ago it should have been fixed, and no one said anything so I assumed it was. Checking now I see it isn't, will look into it further.

Edit: This should now be sorted.
Edit 2: Okay, now it's really sorted, and covers a whole day on my google calendar for each item.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroThat's very interesting... I think if companies like Aspyr and Feral knew about this then they'd be tempted to have some strong words with these companies maybe because this would no doubt take a healthy chunk of their profits away. That, or they already know about it and are trying to sort it out.

Bundlestars accounts for around 4% on the survey, but there's plenty of other ones on there which I'm not sure if they count as Linux sales or not, then there's the "other" category which I assume contains plenty of "key resale" websites.
Feral already know about it, as they talked about it in our comments and on reddit. The problem is, they don't control what the publisher does before their ports exist of course, and probably still don't control all that much after release.

Quoting: CpukillerSorry but i wont just buy my games on specific sites to be counted as a Linux sale. If they want to have reliable statistics they need to change something on there sites. Its the work of the PR guys to check who (or better which platform) buys the game and not mine. This is like if you buy product A at B they will order more of product C to compensate the demand.
Sorry, but it's nothing to do with PR folk if store systems are designed this way.

Quoting: EikeAnd "I can confirm that we have not been sent new keys for Shadow of Mordor since the Linux release and only Windows is mentioned on the page. " would translate to "Our sales are accounted for as Windows sales.", right?
Yes, I've made it more clear now below the quote.

Quoting: LinasFunny how there is a review on Steam by somebody who played the game for 8 hours already. Wonder how that works? Are they running closed betas?
Some people do have "even earlier access", which I sadly missed out on.
